Discussion One Piece Grand Gourmet Tips & Tricks
I just beat the game and have some tips and tricks. I’ve never played a Kairosoft game before so might be missing some of the intricacies of some mechanics. Post your own tips or advice in the comments.
Maximising comfort
- Monuments are 2x2, have a 9x9 area of effect, and give +40 comfort
- Banners and special lights give +15; some special decorations also give +15
- Normal lights give +5
- You can place tables in the overlap between monuments to gain the effect of each one
- However, I think there may be diminishing returns to placing lots of tables within a monuments’ area of effect (haven’t rigorously tested but I noticed diminishing returns after place lots of tables around monuments)
- I ended up creating 9x9 themed areas with 3x3 areas of lights / banners and then lots of dividers shoved in
- You could probably maximise further by placing monuments in parallel rows and tables in between although it may look not as nice
Coins, hearts, and money
- The major end game bottleneck is coins and hearts
- Many major end game purchases require either one and trips to Whole Cake and Elbaph require them
- I didn’t realise till later in the game that coins and hearts can be farmed by procs from the meal decorations - select heart or coin maximisation on the auto meal set to farm either one
- Money is the least important resource end game - you will end up making 15-20 million a day, which can purchase most things outright
Customers
- Once you get the Cloud Island Resort, you can pack guests in to get up to 5 affinity per guest at the start of each day
- Some guests need an entire room to themselves - the giants, some important government officials, maybe a few more
- I didn’t finish off all customer wishes - had something like 50 customers who hadn’t sampled their favorite dishes for some reason and didn’t know how to proc it
Gifts
- I didn’t realise until way late but gifts are an affective way to increase guests’ speed and/or appetite
- “Mounts” give the highest speed up, then autographs, then the speed up item, then the random items you get from exploration
- Nami’s shop stocks 3 speed up a day and you should buy it out each day as they don’t accumulate
- Most mounts can’t be used by giants except Cerberus and Komachiyo
- I focused on giving guests with S appetite but low speed the power ups
- Each guest can only be given one of each item
- I have no idea if the speed stat effects when you make a customer an employee (as I could only see the affinity stat on the employee page)
Special events
- You should hold off on using hikes and tastings until you absolutely need to use them as to maximise the money or affinity/training points gained from them
- The maximisation works because the longer you hold off, the more customers you’ll have, the tastier your dishes will be, the higher your customer affinity be will be, etc, etc
Crew
- Nami’s discount is super useful and should be used for major coin and heart purchases (and money purchases when necessary)
- In Zoro’s minigame, he has a double jump which I didn’t figure out for way too long
- I sent Robin with Luffy on most explorations to maximise ingredients gain
- I only focused on Chopper on banquet days at end game (not sure if it even makes a difference)
- If you want Luffy/Zoro/Jinbei to discover stuff don’t send them on missions
- Make sure you use Jinbei to pick up non-fans from old regions
End game
- The end game is about getting rank 1 sales which is around 19/20 million I think
- I focused on maximising tastiness and price by getting ingredients upgrades
- I focused on ingredients upgrades from places with $ exploration costs and not hearts or coins
- For other ingredients, I bought out Nami’s shop
- In the end game you’ll be able to constantly buy out everything that costs money without issues though. Explorations lose importance at that point.
- At the very end I was still quite tight on hearts and coins after buying out the Nami shop heart/coin monuments and the final customer requests
- I think getting rank 1 requires you to do it on a banquet day (which I did, so not sure how long it would take on a non-banquet day)
- If you want, you could hold off ingredients upgrades until your very last banquet as to upgrade the most amounts of dishes
