Kushner's team is unlikely to file suit against Cole or his publisher by late November, as litigation would risk exposing the very financial records they deny exist to discovery.

Post-Grad Job inquiries

Hi, as the title states, I am a recent graduate from a prestigious public university with a good GPA. I can't seem to land a job relevant in my field. Does any one have any good ideas/recommendation/advice on where to start if I want a job something revolving around intelligence analyst, policy analyst, etc. My degree is in political science. I will happily accept unpaid internships, I currently already have 2 fast-food jobs, so I have the ability to work unpaid elsewhere. I just can't seem to get my foot in the door. I've applied to internships and entry-level positions and don't even get a response back, even with follow up emails + cold calls. Any ideas??

Morning Intelligence Brief – October 26, 2026

A busy start to the week, with major election results in Brazil and Serbia, more protests planned in France, a deadly attack in Jordan, and severe flooding in the U.S. Southwest.

Here’s a closer look at what our Global Intelligence Team is tracking and why these developments are worth paying attention to beyond the headlines:

Brazilian President Secures Fourth Term

Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva secured a fourth term, defeating Senator Flávio Bolsonaro with 51.8% of the vote and a margin of approximately 4.4 million votes.

  • Bolsonaro has refused to concede and is seeking to annul the election results following a disputed last-minute extension of voting hours.
  • Electoral authorities maintain that the extension did not affect the outcome.
  • Lula’s victory could weaken the influence of U.S. President Donald Trump’s regional allies and signals continued differences between Brazil and the U.S. over regional policy.
  • His next administration faces economic pressures, public concerns over living costs and security, and a deeply divided political landscape.
  • Continued challenges to the election results could prolong political uncertainty.

Serbian Leader Aleksandar Vučić Concedes Defeat

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić conceded defeat in a parliamentary election, potentially ending his party’s 12-year hold on power following a student-led campaign against corruption and government accountability concerns.

  • Preliminary results indicate the Student List secured approximately 138 of 250 parliamentary seats, compared with 104 for Vučić’s Serbian Progressive Party.
  • Voter turnout reached nearly 68%, reportedly a record.
  • The student movement emerged from nationwide protests following the November 2024 Novi Sad railway station collapse that killed 16 people.
  • The election marks a major political shift in Serbia and raises expectations of democratic reforms, greater government accountability, and closer alignment with European democratic institutions.

Jordanian Security Forces Arrest Three Following Greek Orthodox Church Attack

Jordanian security forces arrested three armed suspects following an Oct. 23 attack on a Greek Orthodox church during a funeral in Karak governorate that killed nine people and injured 40.

  • The suspects were apprehended following an exchange of gunfire with security forces while hiding in an abandoned building.
  • Authorities recovered firearms and ammunition during the operation.
  • Jordanian officials described the attack as extremist terrorism, although no group has claimed responsibility.
  • King Abdullah ordered a strong security response to the rare attack targeting Jordan’s Christian minority.

French Trade Unions Call for Further Nationwide Demonstrations

French trade unions and protest groups called for nationwide demonstrations Oct. 31 and a general strike Nov. 5, increasing pressure on President Emmanuel Macron amid public frustration over wages, rising living costs, and public services.

  • Approximately 410,000 people participated in protests across France Saturday.
  • Authorities deployed 70,000 police officers and reported more than 1,300 arrests, although violence was significantly lower than during previous demonstrations.
  • Strained public finances, Macron’s weakened parliamentary position, and the approaching end of his presidency limit his options for addressing the unrest.
  • Protest organizers warn that dissatisfaction is spreading across multiple sectors of French society.
  • Further demonstrations could prolong disruption and increase political pressure on the government.

Severe Flooding Across Four Corners Region

Severe flooding across the Four Corners region has triggered widespread evacuations, water rescues, road closures, and infrastructure damage across New Mexico, Utah, and Colorado.

  • In New Mexico’s San Juan County, approximately 1,500 homes were reportedly damaged, hundreds of rescues were conducted, and approximately 500 power outages persist.
  • Damaged wastewater facilities have caused sewage contamination, creating additional public health concerns.
  • Evacuations remain in effect in Bluff, Montezuma Creek, and Aneth, Utah; Manassa, Colorado; and Socorro County, New Mexico.
  • Closures along U.S. 64, U.S. 160, and Highway 162 are disrupting transportation and emergency access.
  • Although floodwaters are receding in parts of New Mexico, the San Juan River near Bluff is forecast to crest at 29.5 feet Monday, threatening catastrophic flooding and prolonged disruptions through early Tuesday.
