I want to say Hitmonlee because of his sick spin kicks, but really my favorite one is Smeargle, you wanna know why? It’s because he can defend against Butterfree’s Hyper Reverse attack with two double colorless energy cards, and only get ten damage points.
Now it’s your turn. What do you think?

Some photos I took yesterday using an iPhone 17 Pro Max.
Spent all day yesterday at the final day of the weekend long “Brickhouse Revival Fest” in West Virginia closed out by a reunited Holden Caulfield playing a one-off reunion (their first show in 18 years.)
A lotta great bands but the highlights were the 4 pictured along with my merch haul (if you don’t post a pic of your merch haul after the fact were you really at the show?)
It was my first time ever getting to see Human Animal…they are so damn good. Was stoked EMS had some copies of the Brothers Keeper reunion show variant records and I was able to snag one after not being able to make it up to Erie last weekend.

I don't come across this in the real world. Have any of you? Maybe I'm too blind to see these people. I have 1 friend who i go to shows with who I've known for like 20 years. I don't talk to anyone about my hardcore fandom really.

Just wanted to share one of my favourite local bands from the Hobart youth hxc scene, very few bands from here get any recognition apart from grindhouse 7k (who are fucking incredible) this footage is my own.

EDIT: Remembered they were called Stand Aside. Anyone else remember them?
Does anyone here from the UK/London scene from back in the day remember a band who classed themselves as "Ninjacore"?
I saw them play a few times and I think they put some shows on themselves. They stood out from the other bands because they were longhaired, where the others were mostly bald or shorthaired, and the music was more metalcore, with the frontman doing spinkicks and basically pretend fighting on stage. I have a feeling the name had "Stand" in it, but it's not simply the band Stand, whose True Romance ep I still have somewhere.
No one really took this "ninjacore" band too seriously, and they faded away, I guess. But they were at least respected for putting on shows and supporting others in the scene. I always wondered if they actually released any music and how it came out.

I was at show last night for a couple pretty big touring bands and with local support. Like so many other shows I have seen in recent years, the bands are begging people to come up front and crowd into the stage. And like some many other times before it fails to work. It is obvious why. If you go stand in the front, there is pretty likely that you are going to be crowd killed and hit in the back and the head. So nobody does, or like last night, a few people do, they get clocked and everyone learns the lesson and we are stuck with the horseshoe.
I am an older member of the scene and this is not another back in my day rant. I came into the scene before the era of ninja kicks and have been in ever since. I am not saying we need to stop moshing and and crowd kill, but we need a better system for it to continue. So here is my proposal.
People can stand in the front by the stage, for pile-ons, mic grabs, stage dives etc. and we make it super uncool to hit people in the back or back of the head. You can mosh and spin kick all you like, but you got stay further back and you cannot hit people whose back is to you.
For this to work and eventually become the norm, it needs to be policed by the scene itself. Bands should encourage people to come up the the front and shame the people who crowd kill them in the back. Those of us at the show need to intervene if people are hitting people in the back in same way we intervene if people are retaliating or targeting smaller people. The scene is the bands and fans and we need to work together on this.
I am not trying to shame people for moshing hard or even trying to stop them. I am just trying to find a constructive solution where we people can mosh and people can mic grab and stage dive.
TLDR: Put the moshers in the back and make it uncool to hit people by the stage in the back
