General Discussion All my fob knowledge
Hey so I'm autistic, fob is my special intrest. So here's all I know. Feel free to correct me on anything, ask questions or take anything out as refrence
So you gotta start pre fob. With petes bands I don't know much on this subject but I will try. So his first band was first born (1993) wich I genuinly can't find anything on except the name and that pete was in it. (Pls do comment if you have any info on it). Aswell as Birthright, Extinction and Yellow road priests. I can't particularly find any info on any of these for some reason but again, please do tell if you have nay info. And then of course there's arma angelus and race traitor. Race traitor is where he and Andy hurley (drummer) met. Arma was his bigger band though, doing nationwide tours and stating hid name in the metal scene.
Joe trohman was allso very into the metal scene, not in the fact that he played in bands, as he was only 14/15 at the point he met pete.
Here's someone who has interviewed him put it:
'Trohman grew up in South Russell, east of Cleveland, Ohio. He lived there for 12 years and attended Chagrin Falls Schools, playing the trombone in the school band until he picked up guitar later in his secondary school years. He moved to a suburb of Chicago around 12 years old. He attended Washburne Middle School, where he participated in various bands for fun. After Washburne, he attended New Trier Township High School. During his high school years he was part of an audio visual club, as well as briefly playing bass in Arma Angelus with Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz on vocals.'

I don't know much about Joe but I've read his book: None of this rocks. Wich I much recommend if your into that type of music
Andy hurley was in a few bands, a very prominent drummer from what I've heard, very popular in the scene. Some of his pre-fob bands being Kill the Slave Mast (1996-?), Global Scam (can't find any information on except andy was in it), Project Rocket, wich technically isn't pre fob as he played from 2001-2003 while he filled in drums for fall out boy. Pete and Andy met while they played in arma angelus, pete on vocals, aswell as Joe, who had been invited to play bass while they went on tour (he was 14-15 at this point)
Patricks past is the most known I think, as he is frontman and tlakd alot about it online. His first band at 14 was Public display of affection, wich he played drums and some vocals in. He has said and there are alot of pictures of him at arma angelus gigs. He has stated before (not exact words) about how much he enjoyed the music and how much he wanted to be like them. When he was late 15 to early 16 he met joe. Joe and one of his friends were cd shopping and found a cd by a band called Neurosis. Joes friend asked about it and joe was just telling him about the band. Patrick, overhearing this, would butt in and start talking to joe about the band. Trying to out-nerd each other on the bands facts. They both bonded over this. And Joe started tlaking about how him, pete wentz (bassist), Ben Rose (drummer) and John Flamandan (guitarist) wanted to start a band and they just need a vocalist. Patrick gave joe his mp3 account for him to check out.
Joe, loved these mp3s, pete however did not. And after some convincing they went round to patricks house to hear him play live, this is what changed petes mind. Hearing patricks vocals, he saw something in the boy, inviting him to join the band as a vocalist. While patrick never wanted to sing. He wanted to play drums since he has bad social anxiety and didn't like the spotlight that singing puts on you.
After alot of convincing, patrick agreed.
'The band is named after Fallout Boy, the sidekick to the superhero Radioactive Man in The Simpsons.'
'TIL That the band Fall Out Boy was named after a character in The Simpsons (Radioactive Man's sidekick), when a fan in the crowd, at their second ever show, shouted the name as a suggestion.'

Thier first album, evening out with your girlfriend, was recorded in 2002 in 2 days. Using joes bar-mitzvah money and some of the bands collective budget. There drummer at this point, Mike Pareskuwicz, was described by lead singer, Patrick stump, as 'the oposite of a metronome'. Therefore was kicked don't the band later on.
2003's, take this to your grave was thier first proper hit. Its what funded them to play acctusl stages instead of bars. With hit songs: gta/where is your boy, Saturday and dead on arrival. This is when Andy hurley joined as a session drummer. During this tour is when they crashed, a very influential part for the band. Inspiring under the cork tree not only this. But it made the switch from patrick to pete on the lyrics. As patrick preferd melodies over lyrics and pete believed he could write better. Than 17 year old patrick (I personally think patricks writing was beautiful but oppinions).
From under the cork tree is one of thier biggest hits. With sugar were going down. But it was allso a hard time for the band members. All four just being thrown into fame. Especially after take this to your grave, all this weighed down on pete. Causing him to take a handful of atavan in the parking lot of a best buy. They took a break from music between tttyg and futct as pete was sent to hospital to get his stomach pumped and stayed with his mom for a but. This caused my (personal) favourite song on this album: atavan haven. References to this in the song are:
'I'm not going home alone 'Cause I don't do too well Sitting out dances on the wall Trying to forget everything that isn't you I'm not going home alone 'Cause I don't do too well on my own' - chorus
And
'I'm having another episode I just need a stronger dose' - bridge
There's alot that goes on I this eara that I would have to fully research so this will be edited at some point, as this is off the top of my head mostly (unless I need to check soemthing/ add links)
Next album was infinity on high, with, of course, petekey. But that is a diffrent rant. This album was made 2007, and is very popular with hit song 'This ain't a seen its an arms race' and 'thx fr th mmrs'
(Most of this info is from Google or interviews I've whatched, aswell as ALOT of reading😭)
So I will leave you guys eith this for now, it WILL be updated with more when i have the time I promise and if you want anything added PLEASE comment. I rlly wanna be apart of fobats team but I'm 99% sure I'm too young, I'm super intrest in past fob/ thier old bands(24/10/26)
