Etsy just announced some new rules that ban AI, which applies to AI generated embroidery patterns, and added an AI images report reason. It looks like they will use the reports to change Etsy rules even further, so PLEASE report all AI generated embroidery patterns you come across on there!
https://www.etsy.com/news/creativity-and-trust-in-the-age-of-ai
It says:
🔵 To help buyers see the most authentic representation of a listing, sellers will need to include at least one unaltered photo of the actual item against a real background. Any supplemental AI-assisted listing images must accurately represent the item a buyer will receive.
🔵 We’re ensuring human creativity is part of every listing by making clear that bot-generated listings without human involvement are not allowed, nor is AI use that misleads buyers or creates fraudulent inventory.
🔵 Functional guides, such as patterns and recipes, which require buyers to put in effort to achieve a finished product, cannot be created using AI. Listings for functional guides must also show a real result made using the instructions.
And also:
We're also making it easier for users to report listings they believe include misleading AI imagery, which will help us better understand how they perceive AI misuse.
I really hope this is a step towards Etsy returning to its roots.

I had a really hard time ironing the fabric for this one, but the final result looks good.

My first attempt at this perspective. If I do another one there are things I'll do differently. It was a learning experience. It's 11×14.

What is your favorite stick and stitch and tracing pen or pencil ? I have used a few different ones I can’t seem to get them to stay on the fabric and my pen bleeds and pencils keeps bunching on the fabri

Hello everyone! I was working on my first ever project and completed him. When I rinsed out the water soluble pattern I had made, the stitches became so frayed and fuzzy.
Is this a problem with my technique? Or is it simply poor quality threads? Thanks in advance for any advice!

but the floss is too fuzzy, and I might have gone too small. Tulle on top of cotton.
Nevertheless, I'm thinking of cutting off the cotton and just leaving the tulle around the sides (pic 4). Thoughts?
The drawing is based on Kurt Vonnegut's drawing in Breakfast of Champions Slaughterhouse Five (pic 3). The quote is also his, of course..

I started embroidering last month and i’m a little confused on placement. Does the needle go through the line of the design? Does it go below or above the line? This is the second pattern i’ve done in a 3 pack I got from Michael’s (if you know of other places to get kits let me know!) I feel like I handled this one pretty well but there’s definitely places where I went into the lines and other places where the lines show (also any other tips you have please🙂↕️)

This has taken about a year, with lots of other projects being prioritised because it was so tricky. The jumper was unpicked and re-done more times than I could count!
Flowers aren't my strong point and took a long time, but I am pleased with how they turned out!
The little baby face absolutely does me in!
Edit: Thank you do much for the award!

It's only my 3rd project, so I'm really new. I spilled some rubbing alcohol on it and now the pattern is bleeding. What do I do?

The illustration I’m embroidering is a public domain art nouveau piece :) having a lot of fun with it!

This will eventually be a series of three I think. I shared the first one about 2 months ago.

I’m embroidering graffiti on a denim jacket and am starting to get discouraged about the scale of the project, so I wanted to show it off.
I’m also having issues with the water soluble interfacing losing its stickiness, so if anyone has tips for dealing with that I’d appreciate them!! So far I’ve been either using a glue stick to re-stick them or doing random basting stitches with thread scraps, but I feel like there has to be a better way.

I had this sweatshirt with a fake embroidery print and decided to make it look better now that I have been laid off.
It took about 2,5 weeks, I used a mix of threads I bought second hand so the colours are not consistent at all 😅 but it looks pretty nice imo

Took advantage of the sunset and thought id share with you all 🥰.I wanted to challenge myself to use lettering since it was a struggle for me in the beginning of this digitizing journey. Turns out I was the issue and not the machine 😅.
I am quite happy with how it turned out. I definitely wish I had a better shadow color but im really trying to use some older thread before I buy new ones.
Did you see my other text options at the end? I wasnt sure if they should be 2nd person perspective or 1st... and yes talking on the phone stresses me out..
What would you put as a fortune? (I have a pretty dark sense of humor but try to keep it upbeat for the masses 😎)
Anyways, go you for reading this far and I appreciate any feedback or questions and I hope you have a wonderful week! 👋
