neck/chest/abdomen What is this spot on my chest?

What could this spot be on my chest?

-It’s been here for a few weeks.
-not itchy but it I accidentally scratch, it hurts
-when I did scratch to see what it is, it bled a tiny tiny bit

I sent this photo into my derm and they got me in for Fri morning to look at it. But I’d like to be prepared for what it could be.

For context- 39 year old female. Fair skin- history of tanning bed use from around 18-25 but since then no tanning bed and always use sunscreen when outside but do understand I did significant damage during those years. Burn somewhat easily.

Looking for input on what it could be. Thank you!

legs/feet Right big toenail turning black, widening pigmentation, and now almost detached. Could this be fungus, trauma, or something more serious?

I'm looking for advice from people who have experienced similar nail problems. I know Reddit can't diagnose me, but I'd appreciate hearing about similar experiences and what kind of specialist I should see.

Context

I've had unusual dark pigmentation on my toenails, particularly my right big toenail and right middle toenail. The dark pigmentation appeared before the nail started lifting, and I noticed it changing and seemingly widening over time. I play some sports and have also used running shoes that were becoming worn out, with the sole deteriorating and part of the front sole coming loose. I'm wondering whether repeated pressure or trauma could explain the changes.

Also, the black toenail has been happening for about 2-2.5 months. Just in the last month, the black toenail started to become a bit worse with the nail lifting off the nail bed

What has happened to my right big toenail:

The nail developed a dark black/gray area that appeared to grow or change over time. At one point, part of the dark area seemed to be clearing in the middle. A white area appeared, which I believe was caused by the nail lifting away from the nail bed. The nail has become brittle, rough, and crumbly, with what looks like debris underneath. The nail is now almost completely detached, with the remaining attachment near the cuticle/base. There is dark, black-looking material (in spots) underneath the lifted nail. I initially thought there might be red material too, but I was mistaken; I don't see red material.

I went to a dermatologist (~ 1.5 months ago) inquiring about my middle toenail band. The dermatologist told me that a biopsy might be better but was about 95% sure it wasn't melanoma. They thought the pigmentation might be a hemorrhage, although they weren't certain. They also mentioned that the width of the dark area and its growth were concerning enough to consider further evaluation. The dermatologist only saw my middle toe black band, not my thumb toe.

What I'm wondering:

Could this be a fungal nail infection (onychomycosis), especially given the yellowing, brittleness, crumbling, and nail separation?

Could repeated sports-related trauma cause the black discoloration and eventually make the nail detach?

Has anyone experienced a nail that became black first and then gradually lifted off?

Does this pattern warrant a nail biopsy or evaluation by a dermatologist who specializes in nail disorders?

If you've had a similar experience, what testing helped distinguish fungus, trauma, and other causes?

back Do these spots look like a fungal infection? (Pictures included)

Hi everyone,

I'm a 32-year-old female. I don't smoke and don't drink. I've noticed these spots on my back and shoulders that resemble fungi (they have a slightly circular/ring-like appearance). I'm trying to figure out if this looks like a typical fungal infection (like ringworm) or something else.

Details:

· Location: Back and shoulders

· Symptoms: None besides the spots themselves, not itchy, no pain

· Duration: Noticed them today; can't be older than a few days i think

I've attached some photos in the comments. Does anyone have experience with this? I'm planning to see a doctor, but I wanted to get some opinions in the meantime.

Thanks!

arms/hands 13 Year Old's Hands After Shower

We first noticed this on my daughter's hands after we went to a water park for a few hours but then she told us it happens every time she takes a shower even or washes dishes. Does anyone have any idea what this could be? It's not just hand pruning, it's much more severe than that. It happens during any duration of exposure to water for over 5 or so minutes. I've never seen anything like it.

Location: Both hands

Treatments Tried: Lotion, gloves during dishwashing, taking shorter showers

Background: At first we thought it was from doing her hair (she has long and thick curly hair) but when it happened at the water park, we realized it wasn't the case. She states it is itchy and painful. Like when your shoes get wet and you walk around in them all day.

face/ears/eyes/nose/mouth/cheeks What are these black dots on my forehead?

I noticed this happening maybe a week ago but it’s not consistent. It’s located on my forehead but only near my hair line I don’t notice it all over my forehead. It’s not itchy or painful.
I’ve been struggling with bumps all over my forehead for years and so I got prescribed Clindamycin lotion 1% for it. Ive used Clindamycin before, for like 6 months in 2025. My dermatologist did not tell me that I should not be using it for that long, I had to google it. I started using it again on 9/12/2026 because that was prescribed to me for my forehead issues again that came back. I don’t use it everyday but most days just on my forehead. And all of a sudden these black dots are showing up after using Clindamycin for weeks now? I’ve never experienced this. They don’t seem to be blackheads because I can just scrape them off kind of like a scab? (I know I shouldn’t do this but I was curious what it was)

legs/feet Worried about melanoma

I’ve had this mole on my knee since I was a kid. I don’t think it has changed in size or color, but it has recently started to appear dry, almost like it’s in moisturized. There has always (as far as I can remember, years at least) been some discoloration, with a slightly darker spot in the middle, a lighter ring, and then a darker ring, but it’s hard to see. It’s a little smaller than the end of a pencil eraser. It never itches or anything.

I’m a ginger, and thus pale, so I know I’m more sensitive to these things. That said, I’m currently unemployed and have no insurance, so it has been near impossible to get anyone to take me seriously. I’m scared of putting it off forever, but I’m not sure what to do or if I should even be concerned. Any advice would be appreciated!

neck/chest/abdomen Is this just my eczema?

Showed up this morning. I tend to scratch in my sleep, but this spot isn't itchy.

Located on my chest. It doesn't look like my other spots, but im asking just to be safe.

What im worried about is that it looks almost bruised.

Should I be concerned, or is it just my eczema?

face/ears/eyes/nose/mouth/cheeks Is There Anything I can do About This Texture? 🥺

Post image
• Upvotes

I had pretty severe cystic acne in high school which cleared up around 8 years ago. Unfortunately, due to picking and using some pretty intense topical treatments that did more harm than good, I'm left with this skin texture that just won't go away.

Does anyone have recommendations for products/treatments that may help?

AM Routine:

  • Beauty of Joseon Red Bean Water Gel
  • Skinfix Triple Lipid-Peptide Cream Barrier Moisturizer or Eucerin Urea Repair Day Face Cream
  • Round Lab Birch Juice Moisturizing Sunscreen

PM Routine:

  • The Body Shop Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter
  • Skinfix Gentle Gel Ceramide + Ectoin Cleanser
  • Beauty of Joseon Red Bean Water Gel
  • Skinfix Triple Lipid-Peptide Cream Barrier Moisturizer or Eucerin Urea Repair Day Face Cream

1-2x per week:

  • Some variation of a hydrating face mask (usually Dr. Jart, Biodance or Ishizawa-Lab)

I tried microneedling once, but the derm was hesitant and said there won't be any difference as "there's no problem with my skin". I know it's not the worst problem to have but it still bothers me - especially under direct light where it's most visible.

face/ears/eyes/nose/mouth/cheeks Sebaceous hyperplasia?!

Post image

Has anyone had this or know what it could be? I’ve been to 3 dermatologist. The first 2 didn’t know what it was and the 3rd said it looked like it could be sebaceous hyperplasia but I’m not convinced. I have had it for about 5 years and it has continued to grow in a straight line. It doesn’t itch or cause any discomfort. Occasionally I can squeeze puss out of them. I have tried salicylic acid.

legs/feet Red bumps on my lower leg spreading for over 3 weeks

Post image

I’m a 24-year-old woman and I’ve had these red bumps on my lower leg, near the shin bone and above the ankle, for over 3 weeks. They seem to be spreading, but they don’t itch or hurt. The bumps are raised and reddish. I haven’t tried any treatments yet, and I’m not sure what caused them. I haven’t noticed anything else unusual. I’ve attached a photo. Has anyone experienced something similar, or have any idea what it could be?

legs/feet What is this thing on my leg?

Post image

Hello,

I've had this thing on my lower leg for a long time now.

First, 5 months ago, my legs started to get red dots, some were ingrown hairs, some were filled with pus.

I waited to see if it would get any better and it did for a little bit.

But one pus wouldn't go away. It was inflammed, but i couldn't pop it. Then, one time while I was showering it popped and released pus and blood.

I wanted it to get better so I stopped shaving and removing my leg hair 2 months ago.

Nothing got better.

So now, I have this thing on my leg and I need help WHAT IS IT?!

It's not itchy, when i squeeze it a little bit of pus comes out, but just a small amount. The upper dot gets a bit bleeding when i squeeze it. It's not burning, it's just HERE.

Two months ago my doctor perscribed me antibiotics and antibacterial cream.

It hasn't changed a bit.

Please, help me.

I'm going to call my doctor and schedule an appointment with a dermatologist for sure, but what do you think it could be?

neck/chest/abdomen 22F, random few weeks old rash on chest that looks like like cuts, doesn’t hurt or itch

Looking for hello identifying a rash or skin marks that look almost like cuts or scratches? A few weeks ago, I noticed these strange marks appearing on my skin out of nowhere. My sister pointed them out to b me and by then they were all over my chest. They resemble small dots and cut marks, but I haven’t scratched or injured myself. They’ve stayed pretty much the same since I first noticed them, with no noticeable improvement or changes.

I’m not sure what’s causing them or whether it’s even considered a rash. What can I do to so solve it? Please help

neck/chest/abdomen Is this a normal skin tag? And is it just cutting off its blood supply?

Post image
1 Upvotes

I’ve had this massive growth for a year, it just popped up out of nowhere in my bellybutton and has continued to grow. I assumed it was a skin tag. It was my normal skin color for this past year until i looked down yesterday and it’s practically purple and blue. It’s leaking some clear liquid and a bit of blood now, but it’s not painful to touch or anything. The only thing that concerns me in the color.

I haven’t done anything to it except maybe touch it, I haven’t no skin problems in my background and this has been the first skin tag i’ve ever had.

I can’t get a seem appointment anytime soon, so is this an emergency? Should I go to urgent care or something?

scalp Help with identifying

I have these all over my head. I was referred to a dermatologist. Went to that appointment but the lady didn't even evaluate me. She didn't look at the lesions and was completely annoyed that I was there. Im in Ontario canada so my referral is no longer valid and I feel cheated since the dermatologist didn't even give me the time of day since it was an appointment covered by OHIP.

Sometimes they are tender and have been growing more over the last 4 years. Any advice or thoughts on what type of moles these might be. I've tried looking them up on Google but they don't look like what I see online.

All thanks to any comments.

face/ears/eyes/nose/mouth/cheeks Title: Flesh-colored bump on nose for 4-5 years, bleeds for minutes when popped. What could this be?

Post image

Body: I've had this small bump on the side of my nose for about 4-5 years. It hasn't grown much, but if I ever pick or pop it, it bleeds continuously for a few minutes. I'm planning to see a dermatologist, but I'm curious if anyone has had something similar. What was it, and was it easy to remove? (Not seeking a diagnosis, just similar experiences).

arms/hands Wife was told she has eczema, demonologist we went to see was not helpful. Need help how to proceed.

Need help with treatment for wife.
She has reynauds and rosacea, and dermatologist says that she has contact dermatitis and spongiotic dermatitis. I’m looking for second opinion because the demitologist didn’t seem interested in our case.

She has had this rash on and off, mostly on, for more than 3 years on left hand and 1.5 years on right hand. It feels like burning, stinging, raw feeling and throbbing with skin tightness due to swelling. She also has a prickling itchy feeling on hands that she is compulsive to itch and can’t help it. To me, it looks like a full on chemical burn but it is not.
The sores are weeping and leak a clear amber color fluid. It also feels warm sometimes.

She was given mometasone cream 2 weeks on and 1 week off which helped some, but the cream cannot be used on open wounds and the rash has progressed so much it is not helping now. Her hand is around 70%ish open now.

Second last pic was taken on the 8th, last pic was taken on the 12th. The first pic was taken today on The 26th. It progressed fast.

Her skin has always been sensitive. For soap and detergent we use unscented for both.

She regularly uses polysporin eczema essential and regular polysporin but stopped after rash got worse.
She also uses aveno baby eczema, Vanicream cream and vanicream lotion, and Patrick curelle hand body lotion. Most do not help and do not make rash worse if used.

I am hopeful for any info on what this could be and what treatment would be needed for the progression to stop.

arms/hands Should I get these checked out? (More specifically the first one)

So these two freckles, more specifically the first one though, have made me a little anxious and I’m wondering if I’m just too hyper aware of them now or if I should go see a dermatologist. The first freckle is on the top of my shoulder and has grown since around May of this year, and measures about 5-6mm and was maybe half that size before. I couldn’t get a good photo but it has a dark spot around the center of it. For the second freckle, I didn't even know it existed till a few days ago so all I know is that it’s asymmetrical, and located where sunlight doesn’t see. And neither of them have had any symptoms like itching or pain. Also, if it’s relevant, my mom had to have precancerous freckles removed before and I guess could be a family thing(sorry that’s all the context I know).

back Dry patches on shoulders and back

I’ve had these dry patches on my shoulders for a few years and now I’m getting them on my back. They’re a bit itchy sometimes, but nothing too bad. It gets flaky when I scratch the area. I haven’t tried any ointments as I’m unsure of what to get. I used scented body wash and lotion (probably why I have these now that I’m thinking about it) but I don’t get these on my arms and legs. Any idea on what this is and suggestions on how to get rid of it? Thank you!
