Support-Open [AMA] I help get crypto millionaires into private banks, ask me anything
You all know the story. Crypto and banks don’t get along: frozen wires, awkward questions, accounts closed without a word.
I work for a regulated financial intermediary in Geneva whose job is reducing that friction. We’ve helped over 400 crypto millionaires into Swiss and Monaco private banks, and very few of them had tidy histories (because easy stories are able to obtain an account easily), here are some examples of the kind of profiles that I have helped:
- Early miners with no receipts, just old hardware and pool accounts (or solo miners)
- Early buyers whose records died with Mt. Gox, BTC-e, Cryptopia etc
- DeFi users with hundreds of thousands of transactions across a dozen chains
- MEV and algorithmic traders whose P&L no compliance officer could read
- ICO participants, and people who were simply paid in crypto for legitimate services
The money was clean, we don't take sketchy cases. What they lacked was a story a bank could follow. That's where we stepped in, we wrote a compliance report that explained the source of wealth and funds of each client in a format that the compliance officer can understand, converted their crypto into fiat and presented the report to a partner private banks that has the risk appetite for these types of cases.
And some of you genuinely don’t give care about banks. Fair enough. This is for people that wanted a house, a mortgage, or some of it parked in stable traditional assets that don’t move 10% on a random Tuesday. These people almost never fully get out of crypto, they just take some chips off the table.
Ask me anything. I won’t name clients, banks or give tax advice. Everything else is fair game.
