Nimbus 2.0 skin for Fire Cube Gen 3?
Anyone get the Nimbus skin working? I installed it but it's very buggy. Don't get any of the side options. Can't navigate anywhere.

[SOLVED]
Simply getting this installed was a hassle because the recommended installer gives you an incompatible firmware architecture, reading through community posts found out NE is blocked but NG which is currently running, works, but then I get this obvious color space mismatch.
this is on a dune/homatics r 4k plus.
what I've tried
SSH to root, echo "rgb, now" > sys/class/amhdmitx/amhdmitx0/attr
as well as echo "rgb, 8bit" > sys/class/amhdmitx/amhdmitx0/attr
also tried going into config.ini and setting the parameter use_rgb_to_yuv = 1
I've tried a different hdmi channel and cable which reports bt.709 16:9 yuv420 pcm 12 bit that didn't work either.
tried changing color spaces on the tv itself, no dice.
So I'm at my wits end and I'd really like to try out CoreELEC but with all the red tape in the way idk that it's worth it.

Hi everyone,
I'm upgrading to a new 75" or 85" TV this Black Friday, but my trusty old TX9s (Amlogic S912 Rev A) has reached the end of the line since it can’t run modern CoreELEC builds.
I’m moving to a new place with limited/slow internet, so my setup will rely almost entirely on offline local playback of high-bitrate content hoarded over the years (and eventual Debrid/Usenet downloads queued up overnight—no active streaming).
My Setup & Dilemma:
Current Server: Raspberry Pi 4 running Jellyfin.
Goal: A budget-friendly hardware solution to handle 4K HDR playback via modern CoreELEC/Kodi smoothly.
Options I'm Considering:
Cheapest Dedicated CoreELEC Box: Looking for the most affordable Amlogic box that natively runs modern CoreELEC builds reliably (handling 4K/HDR/Dolby Vision & audio passthrough).
Mini PC / Re-purposing the Pi 4: Replacing the Pi 4 with an N100 Mini PC to act as both server and local player, or transitioning fully to a standalone Kodi setup on a new set-top box.
Questions:
What is currently the cheapest recommended hardware to run up-to-date CoreELEC reliably?
Will I really note any difference between newer CE boxes and my current one besides the USB 2.0 limitation?
Would going the Mini PC route make more financial/practical sense, or am I better off keeping a budget media box for CoreELEC and leaving the Pi 4 as a headless server?
Trying to keep costs as low as possible. Thanks in advance for the suggestions!
IA used for grammar checking as English is not my first language.
edit: most users are suggesting Fire Cube Tv 3 but were I live it goes for 130€ used. In that price range do you still think is my best option?

Hi everyone,
I am trying to recover a soft-bricked **Acerpure 55" 4K QLED Google TV** that is **stuck in a continuous bootloop on the spinning Google TV logo** after a recent **Android 14** update (UKRA.251202.038).
Standard physical button combinations (holding Power while plugging into AC) are not triggering the Android Recovery menu.
Does anyone (or any service technician here) have a Google Drive link to the forced USB restoration firmware (install.img / upgrade_loader.pkg) for this specific Dixon/Realtek board and panel pairing?
**Hardware & Build Specifications:**
**Retail TV Model:** AP55UG51QEVTD (DAC51U / Factory Chassis: D55UT680)
# Mainboard Model: MS-R51AP836
(Part No: 2GT0MITV / AP83655U)
**Panel Sticker Code:** AP 55 BOE 4K MQ (V11809029)
**OS / Platform:** Android 14 (waiawa / DIX_4KR_ACP_GTV)
**Build ID:** UKRA.251202.038
Alternatively, if anyone knows the exact Realtek U-Boot keystroke or UART pinout on the MS-R51AP836 board (HDMI3 DEBUG / SCL-SDA header) to force recovery --wipe_data via USB-to-TTL, please let me know!
Any help is appreciated.

I did some research but this is new territory for me so I'm trying to get some some tips and advise. I haven't used Kodi since 2016 so I really forgot everything about it. So I have a few questions.
I think majority of people use the nightly CE NO Generic build, and I seen people use CoreELEC samurai build. What builds you guys usually use and which ones you think are the best?
I'm using a debrid service until I get my NAS setup. Which set up do you guys use for Kodi?
Do we still have to put the remote.conf file?
What Launchers you use on the android side and what theme (I don't know if its called a theme) on the Kodi side?
I know theres more I need to figure out but I'm still in the learning process. If you have any tips that would be dearly appreciated.

Im trying to find out whats the best way to watch 4k remuxes on this devices. Theres the ethernet port that is limited to 100mb and the wifi on this device randomly disconnects (not sure if a coreElec issue or my router) and the usb is limited to 2.0 speeds.
How are yall watching movies with this thing without compromising quality?

A few weeks ago I posted asking best bang for buck streaming buck for Dolby; anyways I ended up going for the Fire Cube 3 and I'm loving it but in terms of skins, are there any ones that you guys would recommend that are compatible with it? Seemingly every single skin (aside from the default) I try to install has some bug of some kind on it, whether the home screen not showing, player freezing, etc. Was wondering what skins you guys use and recommend.

This is just my thank you to CE developers for unleashing the tools to avoid political ads. I've watched so little live TV for the last few months; this has saved me from hours of the worst ads I can imagine. I'm in Ohio, and it has been bad. Really BAD. Thanks to the developers of AVDVPlus, POV, and Arctic Fuse 3. They've helped me keep my sanity. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!

Recently, I was bold enough to manually upgrade my 21.3 installation on a (64-bit) ODROID N2 to the Nightly Build. I placed the .tar file in the .update directory, and it worked fine.
However, when I now go to “Update” in the CoreELEC control panel, I don’t have access to update channel 22, which means I can’t access newer versions either. How can I fix this?
[UPDATE]
Never mind. The (auto)updates of the Nightly Builds keep coming anyway...
The "missing" update channel 22 is only cosmetically empty and filled after Piers is officially stable I understand.

If you want to stop Kodi from loading or polling game controllers and joysticks in the background:
peripheral.joystick).(Optional): To prevent Kodi from treating connected devices as game controllers globally, go to Settings >>>> Input and ensure controller options are toggled off.
To manually disable these add-ons if they are not needed, move the corresponding empty dummy folders to:
/storage/.kodi/addons
pvr.iptvsimple, play raw .m3u / .m3u8 playlists, or stream live .ts broadcast feeds.script.module.sidedata to read live Dolby Vision / HDR stream side data from CoreELEC.https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1HR6i9XlA2ul0RN6HZaLadlCJON37zXOh?usp=sharing
"Please unpack the zipped folders Google created."
After disabling or moving the add-on folders, reboot your device (Power Menu >>>> Reboot or via SSH command reboot) to ensure all background services are completely unloaded from system memory.
Note: This guide is primary targeted at older, lower-powered chipsets (e.g., SC2/S905X4)

i run coreElec on my AM9 pro from microSD, which works great, if it actually boots into it. Which it doesnt most of the times. I used the 'recovery' toothpick while connecting power- method, but whenever I do it boots me into the boot recovery menu, not into coreElec and whichever option I choose, it just boots into android again.
So I just toothpick Recovery as many times as needed to boot into coreElec, and weirdly enough, sometimes it does after 5 times, sometimes after 20. I've tried all combinations of booting persistently (toothpick, pressing recovery straight from boot, straight from android, etc..), but its all just random!
Any suggestions on how to circumvent the randomness, what am i missing here?

I’m running CoreELEC on a Ugoos AM6B+
I have two Jellyfin users in the house and need the box to be family-friendly. I tried JellyCon because it supports user switching, but the CHANGE_USER flow was unstable and actually caused Kodi crashes / Safe Mode.
I now have two separate Kodi profiles, each configured with Jellyfin for Kodi under a different Jellyfin account. That part works correctly.
The problem is Arctic Fuse 3. Its built-in “Switch User” option seems to be tied to JellyCon rather than Kodi’s actual profile system. Direct "LoadProfile(Peanut)" / "LoadProfile(TheRetreat)" commands work perfectly from SSH, but I can’t figure out how to expose that cleanly inside Fuse 3 as a normal user-switch button.
Has anyone built a clean multi-user setup like this?
What I want is:
- CoreELEC on AM6B+
- Arctic Fuse 3
- Jellyfin for Kodi
- separate Kodi profiles for each Jellyfin user
- no Kodi login screen at startup
- a simple button inside Fuse 3 that switches between Kodi profiles
- each profile keeps its own watched state / Continue Watching / library
Is there a proper way to map "LoadProfile(profile_name)" to a Fuse 3 shortcut or menu item?

Hey everyone!
As I mentioned a few days ago, I’ve been working on a new Kodi skin inspired by Apple TV. :)
It’s designed to work with both custom builds and stock CoreELEC, and should be compatible with Kodi 21 and 22.
It’s still a work in progress, so I’d really appreciate your feedback! Feel free to report any bugs or suggest improvements. I’ll keep fixing and refining things as I go.
Quick installation:
1. In Kodi, go to Settings → File Manager → Add Source.
2. Add: https://kamilfotoveci-design.github.io/applify/
3. Name it Pyrus.
4. Go to Add-ons → Install from ZIP file → Pyrus.
5. Install repository.applify-1.0.1.zip.
6. Go to Install from repository → Pyrus Repository → Look and feel → Skin → Pyrus Skin.
Future updates will be available through the repository.
GitHub: https://github.com/kamilfotoveci-design/applify
Enjoy! :)

I initially installed AVDVPlus on the AM6B+ to EMMC. This problem has existed since day 1. I recently did an "update" to P3i and the problem persists. Once the device resumes from suspend, if I play any high bitrate file, the video plays choppily for a couple of seconds and then completely freezes up. Navigation of the UI is completely fine. Software reboot does not fix the problem. I need to disconnect the power for a few minutes to fix it. 30 second power off does not fix it. Pulling the HDMi plug for 30 seconds does not fix it. I have not tried pulling the HDMI plug for longer
All the settings (except Shutdown function) in the Power Savings tab are disabled, and changed the CEC settings to Ignore for TV is switched off. However the device still seems to be going into suspend after a day or two of being idle
Please help. I'm very frustrated at this point

I recently rooted and installed 22 rc1 on my device and all seemed to go well, lossless audio and DV7 but playing a file and it will play for a few minutes then just completely stop. Are there known issues on this build? Would I be better installing a recent nightly build instead?

I've been really looking closely at the AM6b+ and furiously googling seamless branching audio cuts to see if this issue persists on the Ugoos... I can't find a clearly defined answer if it's still an issue with certain remux files. I see some threads on certain websites where people have complained of it happening in the past, but I can't tell if that's an issue with the particular CoreElec build they were running or what.
Is there anyone here who can definitively answer this for me? If I get one and get it set up all properly, will I have issues with short audio dropouts on seamless branching 4K remux files like people experience on the Shield Pro, for example?
Thank you in advance. And if you need more info on my setup, if that matters, please let me know.
