I live in a rural mountainous area in East County San Diego. I got a good look at the underside of a very large bird and it had that distinctive white pattern. I looked it up not being familiar with that pattern and it was California Condor. I don't know if other birds have it. Does anyone know of the have been in San Deigo area?

Privileged to have been a part of one of the few tours of Bitter Creek National Wildlife Refuge open to the public. By my count, and review of photographs, we saw 5 free flying birds and 8 juveniles in a cage soon to be released, totaling 13 birds.
One younger bird in particular spotted the group and came in to investigate, flying what must have been inside 100’ overhead.
Very grateful to the folks who work quite hard to give these creatures a fighting chance.
