I’ve been seeing a lot of think pieces on socials today talking about who’s at fault for this squad/season at large. And AP has been taking a lot of heat. HogsHaven wrote an article asking if AP is throwing DQ under the bus. Nicki is throwing shade at AP saying most of this is his fault for building this roster. And sure, you can’t say he’s faultless. I think there are quite a few things (cough CENTER cough) you can be critical about.
Yet… thinking about it more, I can’t shake that the idea that DQ IS in fact NOT DEVELOPING the players’ AP has drafted. Let’s break down AP’s draft picks from 24 & 25 and ask a simple question: have the players from each class gotten better or worse since their rookie season? Since we’re looking at improvement from year to year, I’m excluding the 2026 class.
2024 Draft
1.) Jayden Daniels - A historically great 2024. IMO, the greatest rookie season a QB has ever had. And certifiably an elite talent. It would be easy to me to point to this as a case of not developing talent properly since he’s made a few mistakes here and there this year he didn’t during his rookie season… but I’m gonna say this is a wash because injury was the primary reason he lacked success in 2025. You can also say some of his issues in 2026 stem from a lack of experience and consistency in availability.
VERDICT: Inconclusive
2.) Johnny Newton - Newton was fairly meh in 2024. Had some flashes, but not really consistent. And expected since he was coming off foot surgery. So how was 2025?
Erm… not great either! It was actually worse per PFF by a few points. Also concerning: Newton played his best game against Dallas on X-mas after Kinlaw and Payne were out. And for the life of me, even though I can’t find the article, I remember how there was a big deal about how Newton was finally playing the 3T in that game and that was his natural position. Begs the question… why was he out of position in the first place?
Verdict: Unfavorable, maybe inconclusive if being generous
3.) Mike Sainristil - Ah, now here’s the prime example. Mikey his rookie year looked like a ball-hawking, play-making CB we hadn’t seen in years. A little undersized, but that hasn’t stopped the best at those positions. What did he follow that promising 2024 up with?
Perhaps the worst fall off I’ve personally seen ever. I’d take St. Juste over whatever Mikey has become. At least it was 50/50 if it was PI or incomplete. Aren’t defensive coaches who worked with Richard Sherman and the height of Trevon Diggs and Da’Ron Bland supposed to know how to coach DBs?
Verdict: Significantly worse from rookie year
4.) Ben Sinnott - Had high hopes for Sinnott and it just hasn’t materialized. He was behind Ertz in 2024 so that was understandable, but he talked a big game about how this was a real NFL O and he’s done nothing to really take his receiving to the next level. He’s alright as an Hback in a blocking role… is that what your 2nd round pick should develop into?
Verdict: Inconclusive (could just be a bad pick)
5.) Brandon Coleman - Coleman had a pretty solid rookie year IMO. Certainly promising, if not some flaws in his game. His 2025 was pretty meh to bad as he switched all over the line. This is on both DQ and AP, but I also get it with how that offseason went improving the bookend tackles. But hey, 2026, Tunsil goes down and Coleman is back as the starting LT with more experience and coaching. How’s he look?
About the same… maybe worse? I feel like he can’t pass pro at all the past few weeks. Again - he’s a young player. His performance should improve as he gets more time in the league.
Verdict: Stagnation at best, mismanaged at worst.
6.) Luke McCaffrey - Was always a project pick. Has not developed and was floated as a cut candidate. Good at KR?
Verdict: No improvement
Day 3 Picks: McGee, Hampton, Jean-Baptiste. Hard to say they’ve developed into anything.
2025 Draft
1.) Josh Conerly Jr. - This is the pick that you can safely mark as improving. Conerly had a rough start to his career, but has improved steadily. He’s been a bright spot for the OL most of this year (last week notwithstanding) and I suspect he takes off into his year 3 season with another offseason getting grown man strength on that frame.
Verdict: Improving w/ upside
2.) Trey Amos - Gonna keep this short; clearly inconclusive w/ injuries. Just saw the field last week.
3.) Jaylin Lane - Hasn’t had the same pop as a PR considering he housed two last year, but a bit better as a WR. Hurt in gruesome fashion though, so inconclusive.
4.) Kain Medrano - I guess you can say improving? He did make a huge play against Seattle. It gets harder when it’s a 6th rounder you’re looking at.
Verdict: Inconclusive
5.) JCM - Some real flashes in 2025. Fumbling problem but was explosive. Hard to say his 2026 is better honestly.
Verdict: Inconclusive
Total:
Improving: 1 (2 tops)
Stagnating/No Improvement: 4+
Inconclusive: 5
Getting Worse: 2-3
So I ask the question… is it not fair for AP to believe that DQ isn’t helping the development of his picks? Which player outside of Jayden and Conerly can you say are steadily showing improvement week in and week out? That’s a coaching problem my friends.

Like this should be a nice win to get us back in division race . No way should Dan Quinn and our guys come out the bye and lose this game. Nothing is a guarantee especially for this team but man… cmon lol

I wanna know and hear about what all you guys might think about moves we should make, shouldn't make, take a chance and kick the tires on anything you might would like to see us do or don't do. With the the 2026 NFL trade deadline ending on Tuesday, November 10, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. ET (3:00 p.m. CT / 1:00 p.m. PT) let me know what you all think we need to see from now until then with the fact that the NFC East being so ass currently that sitting at our record 1-4-1; having 2 more crucial games that probably make or break not only our season but also determines whether we are sellers or if we might would look to buy something in a move geared towards the future. 2 home games with this upcoming week we play them Philthadelphia gumps SNF at the crib this Sunday night & another big in conference game at home with a early game window 1pm game at the spot again vs the Rams. Yall lmk what yall thinking #HTTR #HailGang

I know the stadium collapsing on both seats would be the best possible scenario but we can actually still win this division.
I’m assuming it’s all Cowboys lose when and wherever possible.

I think we get a top 5 pick if not we are most definitely top 10. If you are in charge of the draft this coming up year. What position do you target 1st ,2nd,3rd,. I would love a very unsexy draft of mainly line men and a good corner and safety. I would take top available corner 1st especially if the kid from norte Dame Leonard is available, I would like the size and ball hawking ability of the 6.5 safety from cal lopa and then just pick best available linemen with the rest of the picks and get jayden help.

This team isnt going to seriously compete this year. Im not advocating tanking but we have to be smart about trading away players with value before simply losing them to FA.
Stefon Diggs - I think we can get a 3rd from a team like the chiefs. He has been getting open and they would rather get Diggs on the rental than overpay for Pickens.
Daron Payne - Prob get a 5th. He is one after this year anyway so no use holding on.
Anyone else? Tim Settle? Dorance Armstrong?

I don’t know why fans are thinking this is going to be a cake walk?
They look good currently even without Jalen. It’s going to be a lot closer than what we think and we could lose it especially if our defense is terrible again.

There is much talk about DQ’s future. But shouldn’t we be talking about (GM Adam) Peters too? One, his drafts and trades have been subpar, and two, failing to address — or overrating — the secondary and O-line is GM malpractice. We just don’t have the talent to overcome the myriad in-game mistakes (that are mostly on the coaches) and perpetual injuries (should we talk about the training staff, too?). I know (Ron) Rivera and (Dan) Snyder left the cupboard empty, but it’s been three years now. Accountability across the board is a requisite. — F B
It’s fair to question the roster construction. I have. As you mentioned, this group does not seem built to withstand the injuries and self-inflicted mistakes that pop up week after week. And granted, the Commanders have dealt with a lot of injuries. But so have many other teams — some with more total injuries and more impactful injuries. The good ones find ways to overcome the losses.
The offensive line has been among the team’s more glaring issues after it released center Tyler Biadasz early in the offseason and never filled his role with another veteran or created any real competition for the starting job. The team said for months that it was confident in Nick Allegretti, but replaced him after only two starts with a veteran (Lucas Patrick) it signed days earlier. Not saying they were wrong to move on, but you do wonder if there was more they could have done to create a viable competition at center.

I have no idea who else in the NFL or college level is being touted as a top HC prospect but I would like to suggest bringing back Kliff as a head coach. My thoughts:
He was a lot better at minimizing penalties, managing clock, and bringing the best out of Jayden.
His run game was okay with mid olinemen and now he’s with Sean McVay learning some more heavy personal and PA offense. I think if we hire him he probably keeps Blough and potentially brings some new ideas from a top offensive team in the NFL.
Hopefully that means coordinators get another year to gel, and Daniels gets continuity at coaching. We all knew the coordinators could have a rough start with little experience but both guys had flashes of brilliance in play calling. Blough’s play calls won the Seattle game and protects Daniels a lot with PA and rollouts, while Dorante Jones has us leading the league in turnovers. Unless either guy falls off completely after the bye, it would be valuable to keep them.
And the guy that helped 5 will be ROTY back. There’s probably no better young offensive hire you can make this year to bring back his rookie year confidence. Again I haven’t looked into it deeply but none of the coordinators outside of Brian Flores have shown head coach potential this year and there’s a reason Flores didn’t get hired last year.

Outside of a tie of course. Eagles are as beatable as ever. Not expecting a Dallas loss but would be more helpful to us I think.

So many want to see if DQ and Jayden will have another all time WTF moment. I hope Jayden's not paying any attention to the noise.
