The West Virginia Attorney General’s Office is investigating whether claims that fossil fuels contribute to climate change, extreme weather events, health problems, and economic damage are misleading. The investigation focuses on whether the environmental group’s statements about climate change violate consumer protection laws.

Im looking into going into robotic engineering for uni/college building things like animatronics, Prosthetics or anything else really interests me but my biggest draw back for it is the risk ill be hurting the enviroment.
Im wondering how bad my impact would be? I dont wanna hurt the enviroment at all if possible but it seems with everything people do its just one step closer to being unable to reverse climate change etc and if everything im doing anyway even with avoiding buying those brands and using AI is already hurting tje enviroment it makes me feel pretty guilty abojr wanting to do robotics. Would it be possible to go into rhis course without being apart of the reason our planet is dying?

"The U.S. was the only major economy that failed last year to reduce its carbon pollution or at least slow the growth in how much carbon dioxide is spewed by burning fossil fuels."

A few years ago it seemed like there was a healthy debate about geoengineering vs just cutting emissions. I was skeptical that we would actually finally cut emissions then so I figured GE would get more and more attention.
I haven't heard much about GE recently. I saw the group at Harvard basically shut down?
I take it the green/nimbys shouted down GE same as they shouted down nuclear power in the 70s and 80s, and continue to imagine that surely the rest of the world will join them in simply cutting off fossil fuels?
Why are the sane adults not talking about GE? it's the only option left.
