Hey everyone, I have a Samsung Galaxy TAB A7 of 32 gb storage Byju's tablet running Android 12 with 3GB RAM (2GB virtual RAM now, can go to 4GB) and a big 7040mAh battery. I don't watch movies or anime, and it has parental restrictions, so no banking or payment stuff.

I have a Fold 7 and it's kind of annoying that the Now Playing banner takes up the whole notification tray while I'm listening to music. I can't see any of my notifications without swiping down. The only way I can get rid of it is by closing Apple Music and swiping it away. Any advice is appreciated.

Hello All,
I have a 1st generation fire tablet and have been trying for about week so to install android os on it, but I've been hitting multiple road blocks. I wasnt sure if anyone here has tried before successfully, depending on what's easier I have a win11 desktop and a Linux mint laptop. So far I've tried to manually install the super user app (successfully), attempted to use KFU, FFF, and TWRP but have failed at all 3 of those

Device: Samsung Galaxy A52
Android Version: 14
Keyboard used: Stock Samsung Keyboard that came pre-installed with the phone.
Other keyboards I've tried: G-board/Google Keyboard and Microsoft Swiftkey.
My keyboard typing sounds are bubbly, but I want to change them to a typewriter sound. I can't access those settings because I'm not sure where to look.
Clarification: I don't want to toggle the sound on and off, but change what the typing sound effects.
Thank you in advance.
I used to have this setting, but now I can't find it anywhere within any keyboard settings menu. Maybe a recent update had taken them away?

I have a Samsung Galaxy S25 plus and I've been having issues with my music playing through my phone speakers instead of my connected bluetooth devices. Whether it is with Spotify or YT, sound output is on my phone until I hit pause, then it redirects to my connected bluetooth device. This has happened to different connected devices, my car (not android auto, just reg bluetooth) and my skullcandy earbuds. This started a couple weeks ago. I've restarted my phone, reconnected devices, and my separate audio function is off.
Does anyone know why this is happening and how to fix it?

I sleep on call a lot (Discord) and I have alarms set for the morning, but whenever I'm in a call, my alarm gets replaced by a very quiet beeping sound. There's no way I'd wake up to that. Is there any setting I can change or app I can use?

Exactly a week ago my phone's screen would randomly get all dark shortly after turning the phone on, this kept repeating for a while and then it stopped. Today it happened again for a longer while. It's still working while the screen us dark btw
For context, my phone's screen has been fucked up after it fell like eight months ago. Particularly, three months ago or a part at the bottom got slightly darker than the rest.
I know the answer is that the screen is broken and I need to change it but I'm particularly wondering if there could be another factor that particularly made things worse today and the other monday. Idk, maybe I left under direct sunlight for too long

My daughter has a Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra and likes taking pictures, especially of nature, sunsets, and the evening sky. I believe her photos should be more clear. Any help is appreciated!

I was playing a game called Wild Rift on my phone, I was on 5G mobile data as usual and everything seemed normal.
I play games here at work, pretty much always in the same place and at the same time, during my work break.
This happened about an hour and a half ago.
In the middle of the game my internet went down and when I went to check the network signal it had disappeared. I checked the information tray, where the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are located, and the mobile data option was grayed out.
I'm almost certain it said "disabled" right below the mobile data option; it showed as off and was grayed out, a little transparent, as if I couldn't click on that option.
All of this happened in less than 10 seconds and the network returned to normal. The internet went down, I went to check, and it came back.
It was very quick, but in 3 years or more of having the device, this had never happened before.
I use a Redmagic 8 Pro with Android 15.
What could have happened, and is there any way to find out what might have caused it? Could it be a bug or a malicious app, or was it just my internet connection that had a problem at that moment?
I've never had problems with mobile data beyond the basics, and I really don't know what could have happened or what I might have done to cause this.
Thank you all for your support.
If you need any additional information, just let us know.

This starts about a week back when I had to power of my phone to reseat my SIM card.
I can be watching a video and every like 2 - 3 minutes my phone will just randomly switch to portrait mode but then immediately switches back to landscape. If it was just that I wouldn't have been so annoyed by it, but because my phone is old (bought it in 2018) every time it does the screen will freeze briefly and especially when watching a video, sometimes it can freeze for a good 10 seconds. I have tried disabling auto-rotate and uses the "rotate button on navigation bar" option but the error still persists.
The thing is I have reseated my SIM card multiple times prior to this yet only this time did it cause an error like this, and afaik ejecting/inserting the SIM tray shouldn't be causing this kind of software error.
Is there any fix to this? I'd prefer to not have to resort to factory reset if possible.
Thank you.

Yesterday, I forgot my phone in an Uber, and the driver tried to not give it back. This morning I used Find My Device and knocked on his door and convinced him to return it to me. Before I left home though, I sent the remote factory reset order, as the battery was getting low and I wasn't sure if I'd get another chance.
When I got it back, the reset was not done and data was turned off. I put it in airplane mode, logged out of my Google account and so the phone has not been wiped. I'm now using it with a secondary email, but I want to log back in my actual account, so I wanted to know if doing so will trigger the factory reset once it reconnects to that account

My partner has Samsung S23 FE on Android 16. He was in the settings under "manage storage" trying to free up space and hit delete on the "old images" category trying to free up space- this was a bad move because it turns out "old images" was just 90+% of the images on the phone, including ones from relatively recent vacations and images he uses often I.E barcodes and such for work.
He downloaded a recovery app that shows the missing images blurred out but wants $22 for the task- so I assume the images are recoverable? Just curious what tools/apps are out there that are reputable and not gouging, or if theres something simple we can do. Since the images were deleted from storage rather than a gallery, they aren't showing up in any recycle bins.
Thanks for help!

Help me please 😢
My Vivo S1 phone was not turning on with the power button or with a double-tap on the screen despite that setting being enabled. It also kept showing a notification that infrared rays are blocked, which said that it could cause problems with the screen turning on. I needed my phone for an event so I was in a bit of a hurry to get it working.
I searched for a fix and the first once I saw was a Youtube video that instructed to clear data on vivoservices and reset all system settings (which causes the phone to restart). I was too focused on thinking that doing these both would help override the error message, and since I was also in a hurry, I stupidly made the mistake of not researching more 😢
Now that phone is stuck in a boot loop. The Fastboot Mode option appears when I hold the Volume Up button, but I cannot select the Recovery Mode option with the Volume Down button or confirm the selection of the Reboot option with the Power button. It does not stay on this screen and just goes back to the bootloop so the 2-minute Inactivity Reboot does not get triggered either. Also, holding both the Power button and Volume Button down at the same time or just the Power button alone does not do anything, even when I keep holding for almost a minute.
Is there any way to fix this? If I wait for the battery to drain, is there a fix that would not require a factory reset? I have photos on that phone that I haven't had the time to backup yet ☹️ Is there a way for me to still retrieve them? ☹️

I'm looking for something more detailed than the usual package lists. I already know about UAD-ng's database and sites like DeepWiki/Instagit, but they're either too shallow or don't actually populate the dependency/neededBy fields for most packages.
What I'm really trying to find is a wiki, encyclopedia, or community knowledge base that documents Android packages (especially Samsung/One UI and Google/GMS) with:
· Full package name
· What the package actually does (not just a one-liner)
· Why it exists / its purpose
· Whether it's required or optional
· What depends on it, and what it depends on
· What happens if you disable it vs. uninstall it
· Pros/cons and privacy implications
· Risk level and alternatives
· Whether behavior varies by device / Android version / One UI version / region
· Source code availability: Is the source code publicly available? Is it open source (AOSP, Apache 2.0, GPL) or proprietary/closed-source? If open, where is the repository? If closed, is there any partial source, decompiled code, or vendor release?
· Confidence level / source of the info
I already know that AOSP is open source, but GMS and One UI (Samsung) are closed-source — so for most Samsung/Google packages, the answer will likely be "closed-source." But I want to confirm this per package, and know if there are exceptions (e.g., some components may have open-source parts, or vendor releases).
Does anyone know of a site, wiki, database, or even a Discord/Telegram group where people document this kind of deep per-package analysis? It doesn't have to be famous — I'm specifically asking because the well-known lists aren't deep enough.
If you know a package well, please drop it with as much detail as you can, including the package name, device/Android/One UI version, what it does, safe to disable/uninstall, what breaks, source code availability, and your confidence/source.

I am searching for a task switcher or window manager that displays proper unique titles so windows can distinguished without using a carousel. Example: PDF and Sheets windows should be named after the document, not the application. I have found nothing on my own. Does anything like this exist? Is this a limitation of Android?

My mom has an old LG Harmony 4 phone, which is showing its age. We are looking for a new one, but she wants a specific feature that we can't seem to find on newer phones.
The Harmony can read out who is calling or texting, so it'll say "new message from husband" or "call from 555-555-5555". She loves this feature, since she knows if she needs to check it immediately or can ignore it, without having to look at it. I think the setting is called "Messaging/call voice notification".
We were going to get her a Moto g stylus 2025 (since the rest of the family has Motorola phones, and we can help her learn the new interface), but can't find a comparable setting. A Samsung Galaxy A16 or A17 is also an option, but no one else in the family could help her with the menus.
Does anyone know where if could be hiding? We've tried looking in accessibility, notifications, and the phone app settings.
We're getting kinda desperate for an option. Thanks in advance for any help.

so my phone doesnt react when my headphones are connected. they have a 3.5mm plug thats connected with a 3.5mm to USB converter cable (by ugreen so not some hacky knockoff)
90% of the time when my display is turned off and I want to use the power button or the fingerprint sensor to unlock my phone it just doesnt react for like 30ish seconds. when I go with the power button it reacts 30 seconds later. anything else is working perfectly.
phone is the Poco X6 Pro 5G with latest HyperOS (3.0.9)
anybody got an idea?

Hi all!
The grandmother of my wife has smartphone issues.
Everything goes too fast and now she has 4 cleaner app, multiple navigation apps etc.
Is there a simple way to disable/lock/prevent this?
We've looked online and saw that there is a app lock? (Third party app)
Also, she is very stubborn and Google Family Link is no option because all of her sons who help her have iPhones
I thought I could ask Reddit for some advice :)

Hi! I've noticed that, on my Android 16 device, notifications keep disappearing once 3 days have gone by.
For example, a messaging app; if I have a total of 10 notifications, if 3 of them go 3 days without being open, it'll drop to 7. It's extremely annoying.
I've only found a single post on Reddit mentioning this. Does anyone know if it can be solved?
Thanks!
