Mod announcement Purpose of this subreddit:

This community was created after I spent some time in some pro-AI subreddits. As a neutral myself, it was frustrating to see extremist pro-AI people who harassed those who are innocent and constantly made ragebaiting posts and downvoted everyone who shared at least somewhat anti-AI opinion, with mods that did nothing about it and even banned adequate anti-AI people and removed valid anti-AI leaning points.

Since there is already a lack of pro-AI spaces in media, and many of those have issues mentioned above, I decided to at least attempt to create a somewhat adequate space for people who disagree with these members of the community and that are more open minded and willing to discuss stuff. Also, I am just overall frustrated with people on Reddit, so this could be count as an attempt to show the brighter side of this platform.

So, if you're an adequate pro-AI, neutral, anti-AI who lurks here in good faith, or simply tired of extremist people on Reddit and want a community with same-minded civil people, you are welcome to stay and contribute to this subreddit.

Defending AI Have you ever had situation when your favorite creator was bullied into becoming an anti? How do you deal with it or any tips how to deal with it?

Recently I saw my favorite musicians using AI for some flairs to their concerts. The comments obviously began to be flooded with anti-AI people pointing that out and some even began to call them shitty artists because "while being artists themselves, you do not allow other creative people to shine," which makes be extremely frustrated because they literally paid a real artist to create a short comic for them and paid many commission artists to sing in their songs. Just because they used AI for a mere flair doesn't make them suddenly bad, they simply made their lives easier by not wasting time waiting for it to be done or doing it themselves, or even spending money on something like this.

I tried to fight antis in the comments, but they are stubborn and do not listen and even began calling me a bot haha. Basically what they do is literally bully artists into becoming anti, and it really bothers me, because I was surprised that they were pro-AI in the first place and I don't want them to stop having fun or creating with AI. For now they continue to use AI, but I seem to be the only person actively defending their decision against around 10 antis, others simply do not really care and just ignore the fact that they used AI. Why it matters is because they read all the comments and I'm afraid they will eventually become ashamed of using AI, which is simply not right since they are not doing anything bad.

Discussion [AI art] What are your thoughts on this new Modrinth AI policy?

On one hand, I understand the want for transparency and that mods should not be entirely AI generated, since this can prevent the platform from being flooded with poorly made mods that are not even checked once before publishing. On the other, I think any fellow Minecrafters, especially in Horror space, know the issues with many Minecraft mods already. Majority of them are just rip-offs of more popular mods, already poorly made, often have stolen characters from other horror projects, have pretty boring and repetitive gameplay, etc. So the question rises itself, what's even the logic behind it, if the platform is already filled with poor and even stolen content and nothing is done about it? Even applying my logic, it doesn't make sense. How is AI content different from that? Poorly made content is poorly made content, regardless.

Also, I am a bit confused on 6.2 a. Does it really matter whether AI is used for that or no? Most of the time pictures there do not really reflect what's truly in the mod and are just done for visual aspect. It doesn't change nor add much anything to the mods, so why is AI prohibited exactly there?

This new policy is just confusing to me and I have mixed feelings about it, so what are your thoughts?
