Hi all! I’ve been building a homebrew app for my 3DS and wanted to check whether anyone else would find it useful before polishing it for a release.

It’s an internet radio player inspired by Radio Garden: you spin a globe on the top screen, center a city in the crosshair and listen to its local stations live. It’s working on my New 3DS, but it’s still in testing.

What it does right now:

• 🌍 3D globe (with stereoscopic 3D), real day/night line, slowly drifting stars and the occasional comet
• 📻 ~7,500 MP3 stations in ~3,500 cities (data from radio-browser.info), with song titles, favorites, search, genre filters and the option to add your own stations
• 💬 Built-in IRC chat (#3DSRadio on Libera.Chat) where you can share what you’re listening to, and others tap it to tune in
• ⏰ Bedside mode: big 3D amber clock, radio alarm, sleep timer, and a screens-off “pocket mode”
• 🎨 Themes inspired by Windows 95, Mac OS 7, Winamp and iTunes, plus a spectrum visualizer

It requires CFW and installs as a .cia.

A few questions for you:

1. Would you actually use something like this on your 3DS?
2. Which features matter most to you, and what’s missing?
3. Is the community chat a nice touch, or something you’d rather not have?

Game is Halo: Reach

EDIT: To achieve this I'm using a homebrew app called Kasumi and streaming Halo through GeForce Now. Getting a very stable 30fps, with a clear resolution and no input delay

In the summer, I 100%-ed Mario odyssey and I loved every second of it but I had a huge burnout after ( as I tend to do that A LOT when gaming). And ever since I’ve really been struggling to find something that can really get me back into it. I think I may be suffering from too much choice tbh… in the last few weeks I’ve tried Mario kart and obviously enjoyed it, and DKC:Tropical freeze and enjoyed that also. I just find myself getting a little bored and just going on my phone during levels for example and then just turning the game off..
Maybe I need something a bit more exciting and action packed, idk. Here’s a pic of my game collection for context

So i was searching my local marketplace for some Castlevania DS games and found myself a good deal. I jumped in a metro and while I was on my way, seller texted me that he has a 3ds for sale and asked me if I interested. I said no, cuz already got different 3ds and ds models, but when I finally reached his house and he asked me again, showing pictures of it and saying it’s only $200….
Let’s say I was shocked. Ofc it was no-brainer.
This thing is pristine. Possibly the best deal in my life, considering I spend days browsing marketplaces for something interesting.

Messaged 10 minutes after it was posted and still missed out. That thing looks brand new :(

I've played the Metroid series, Fire emblem Awakening and now RE Revelations.

Recommend me games with a female protag, preferably where its default because if its choosable they usually just have the personality of a cardboard (Fire emblem) for example.

I might sound insane, but , hear me out. I use to have a 3ds and I sold it to get the ayn Thor do I love my ayn Thor yes , me and my gf are exchanging Christmas lists soon and I’m thinking of putting a n3dsxl on it. Why? Because I’ve owned my Thor for a year now and my hinge is already failing ( I babied my Thor like it was a newborn baby) I’ve messaged ayn and they are sending me a replacement pivot shaft. That and a plethora of other reasons like 3ds home menu , the 3ds touchscreen and that there are some 3ds games that require a lot of tinkering on my Thor that I just don’t want to deal with. I guess my main underlying issue is that I just don’t trust the Thor to last trough heavy usage like I would trust a 3ds.

Anyways , what yall think ? Am I crazy or what?

I’m honestly so disappointed and sad to hear that the highly anticipated clear housing shells from EXtremeRate for the Nintendo 3DS family have been delayed due to overwhelming demand. 💔😭 I’ve been looking forward to these beautiful clear shells for so long, and I was genuinely excited to finally get my hands on them. It’s heartbreaking to have to wait even longer, especially after all the anticipation. I really hope they’ll be available soon because I was so ready to give my 3DS a gorgeous new look. 🥺💔

Pokemon X, route 10, Tourist Tomoko. Original game and unmodded console. This issue happend previously at different points in the game, this one I caught repeating.

For the SD card I’ll either use 64gb or 128gb but not more (preferably maybe I’ll use 64gb cuz I can’t stand any sort of lagging)

Alright, gonna start this by saying I have sent a system to nintendo for repair before and got it fixed so I know about unmodding a system so nintendo will work on it but recently a friend found out about how I collect 3Ds family systems since I grew up with them and gifted me a pokeball 2Ds XL they found at a pawnshop for like $20, the system doesnt power on anymore so I cant check if the system is modded would it be worth sending to nintendo for repairs? I know that they just send a replacement system given my previous "repaired" system but idk how I should go about this system since I cant see if its modded or not.

Edit cause forgot: I try and repair what I can but since the 2Ds XL is a pain to open up and repair from what I've heard so I'd rather have it looked at by those who know what they're doing hence why I'm debating sending it to nintendo

So about 10 years ago i used Powersaves on my Omega Ruby. I dont remember what i cheated, however my cartritge got bricked. The cartritge cant be recognized by the 3DS since then. I tried to fix it back then, but nothing worked, then i forgot about it.
Today i remembered about it again and now i want to fix it. Is there any way i can fix my Ruby ? Maybe some new ways has been found in the past few years...

I’m looking to sell my new 3ds. I’ve had a lot of hand helds over the years and I’ve had to sometimes buy third party cords. I don’t wanna sell it to someone especially if it’s a third party cord to be safe and not to damage the ds. I’m 80% it’s an original but can anyone tell me for certain if it’s original?

Someone made a post earlier about cartridges failing because of NAND corruption. Big topic lately. It’s got me thinking…The 3DS console has NAND too. What is the risk of that failing? And what causes it to fail and how common is it?

I can hardly believe it. It went by so fast. My biggest childhood dream was to own a 3DS, and I finally got one. To be more precise, it was October 18th, 2025, but I'm only making this post now lol

This Friday I went to the mall with friends, and my best friend brought his newly purchased PSP and we played together, each on the other's console. Now we have the best Nintendo and PlayStation consoles haha. The video editing function is so much fun, my friends and I laughed a lot!

I've finished several games on this little thing, and I'm on my way to finishing more.
