This water tanker was stopped on a road. Road speed (80 kmph) I was under the buffer limit going 92-96.
Couldn’t see the truck nor the man standing. If God forbid, I wouldn’t have reacted on time things would’ve been different. Would I be held liable? And also can I complain of these people working on a road without warning signs kept prior?

UAE residents: are you worried about the war restarting? Should I postpone my flight?

Hi everyone,
I have a flight to the UAE next week and I'm honestly torn about whether to go or postpone because of the war.
For those living there right now: how does it feel on the ground? Are people expecting the attacks to start again, especially around the US midterms on November 3? Have there been any alerts or incidents recently, and are airports and flights running normally?
If you were in my place, would you travel next week or wait until things are clearer?
Thanks a lot for any honest answers 🙏

To the dude trying to compensate for his Tiny D**** with his bike at 3 am in JVC

To the boy who decided that 3:00 AM was the perfect time to revive the community and remind everyone that sleep is apparently a privilege

Some people build communities. Some people bring communities together. And then there’s you — bringing an entire neighbourhood together through a shared hatred of your 3:00 AM performance on the road.

Mate, I hope whatever deficit you’re trying to compensate for is being addressed through other channels. Because clearly, performance on the street is more important to you than in closed spaces.

Plea for help

Please, I desperately need some help.
I’m struggling mentally, and I genuinely don’t know what’s wrong with me. I can’t afford professional help right now, so I’m hoping someone here can guide me.
I struggle to connect information, solve problems, organise my thoughts, remember things, and even start tasks despite knowing what I need to do. My mind often feels foggy or completely blocked.
Since childhood, I’ve been talkative, easily bored, forgetful, distracted, and prone to procrastination. But my difficulties with thinking clearly and functioning at work have become much worse in adulthood.
I’ve changed five jobs in four years. I start off okay, but eventually fall behind, lose focus, and struggle to perform. It’s affecting my confidence and making me feel like I’m not good enough at anything.
Whenever something goes wrong, I spiral into self-hatred and feel worthless. I’ve even been having thoughts of suicide because I’m so exhausted by this cycle. I desperately want to get better, become independent, and understand why my brain seems to work against me.
Could this be ADHD, anxiety, depression, burnout, or something else? If any psychiatrists, psychologists, or people who’ve experienced something similar could guide me towards affordable help, I’d be incredibly grateful.
Please, I genuinely want to get better. I just don’t know where to start.

P.S all my reports for vitamins and thyroids are well in the reference range

Need a temporary caretaker for my lil cat

Hey guys,

I've a cute 1 year old mix ragdoll cat. She's a rescue who I saved from a horrible situation. I'm having to travel back to my parents from 13th - to the end of November and really need someone who'd be interested to keep her for that time.

She's super loving and not problematic at all and especially loves cuddles. I'm a bit low on funds due to some sudden expenses therefore it was between food and finding a cat boarding place for my cat unfortunately.

If anyone would have space for her please do let me know and I can spare is 400 for your good faith as well. I'm situated in Deira. Just a minor edit : if anyone does take care of her they can stay at my place for free in deira 10 mins from union station for the duration that I'm gone as an alternative. (Will have to confirm your residency etc. as my building management is quite strict)

I'm not able to attach a picture here so dm me and I can send you pictures :)

EDIT : I'd be happy to create a contract and I'll be checking in on her everyday... just to clear any confusions that I'm gonna ditch it with whoever is taking care of her.

I don’t know everything, so looking for wisdom, as market is getting tougher everyday, need to plan for better tomorrow.

Main question: What am I doing bad and good? Are we earning ok or less compare to market?

Background: Indian , studied engineering, spend 2 years in India with hand to mouth. Then started career in Middle East 10 years ago with 2000 AED salary today I earn 35K AED.

Family: Wife (34) Indian, works here earns 20K AED

Expenses: 15K AED per month including expenses of parents back home and rent here.

Asset / Net worth: Started from 0, today as couple we have 600K USD ( holding Indian mutual fund, ETF, Fixed deposits, Indian land and apartment)

Family Plan: aiming to increase family in 2027

What am I missing anything to do to make sure we have a better secured future.

Please don’t try to advise on Dubai real estate investment.

finding girl friends in my adulthood, wish me luck!

Okay, since I've seen so many relationship posts on here, I thought I'd try my luck too, except I'm looking for a female best friend (I'm a girl too lol).
I'm at that point in life where I'd really love to have a genuine friendship with someone. Someone I can yap with about literally anything, share random thoughts with, go out for food, explore places in Dubai, have deep conversations with at 2 am (or 8 pm because I love my sleep lol 😭), and just be myself.

I want the kind of friendship where we can talk about the most random things, hype each other up, share life updates, make spontaneous plans and slowly become a part of each other's lives. I'm not expecting us to become besties overnight, obviously. I think the best friendships develop naturally, and I'd love to meet someone who's genuinely looking for the same thing.

A little about me: I'm 25, grew up in the UAE, and I enjoy a mix of going out and staying in. I love a good conversation, and I'm definitely someone who values meaningful connections over having a million acquaintances.
If you're also looking to make a genuine female friend, feel free to message me! We can start with a conversation and see how we get along xxx

Urgent Plea for Help – Does Anyone Have a Direct Contact at DHA?

Hi everyone, I’m reaching out with a genuine plea for help, and I really hope someone here might be able to point me in the right direction.

We’ve spent the last three years putting everything we have into building our small aesthetic clinic in Dubai. Unfortunately, since the war started, our business has been struggling financially, and we’re now in a very difficult position where we’re doing everything we possibly can just to keep our doors open.

We currently have several DHA violations that have been stuck under “Under Investigation” for months, and we desperately need to speak with someone directly at DHA who might be able to help us move these cases forward.

If anyone here has a direct contact at DHA, particularly someone who handles facility violations or investigations, I would be incredibly grateful if you could please reach out to me privately.

We’re not asking for special treatment or to avoid our responsibilities. We just desperately need someone at DHA we can speak to directly about our situation before it’s too late.

This clinic means everything to us. We’ve poured our savings, time, and hearts into building it, and the thought of losing everything we’ve worked so hard for is honestly heartbreaking.

I’m genuinely asking for help. Even a contact or an introduction could make a huge difference and potentially help us save our business.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. We would be forever grateful for any help. 🙏

My first time posting here. Please be respectful. I dated an Emirati man for over a year, and I recently found out he was engaged.

This is my first time posting here, so please be respectful.

I dated an Emirati man for over a year, and in October, I discovered that he was engaged to another woman. When I confronted him, he denied it and insisted she was just his sister, even though my instincts told me otherwise. Eventually, I found her Instagram and confirmed my suspicions.

When I asked him to make a decision, he told me he would never marry her, that he was choosing me, and that he would speak to his parents. However, the very next day, he followed her again and went out with her.

He keeps saying he's stuck between me and his family, but he still treats me well, buys me things, and tells me he loves me. He has never directly said he wants to leave me.

I admit I've been emotional and sometimes treated him badly because of the situation, but he continues to hold on to our relationship.

I'm not Arab, so I'm trying to understand whether family expectations or arranged marriages could explain his behavior.

If he intends to marry someone else, why does he keep holding on to me? Do you think he genuinely loves me, or is he just afraid to let me go?

I'd appreciate honest advice and perspectives from people who've experienced something similar.

Is this normal after car tinting?

Thumbnail

Hi everyone,

I paid AED 600 to get my car quality tinting, and I’m concerned about two things:

I complained to the job and it feels like they’re dismissing my complaint and think I wouldn’t know better as a woman.

- The tint edges look poorly finished, but the shop says it’s an issue with the glass.

- My car’s ceiling fabric is peeling, and the shop claims it was already like that, which it wasn’t.

Are these issues normal, or do I have a valid reason to complain?

Update: we made our UAE will service free for a week. Here's what we learned, and what's next.

A couple of weeks ago I posted here that we were making our UAE civil will service free for a week. Thank you to everyone who took us up on it, and to the people who messaged with questions.

A few things surprised us:

8 in 10 people who claimed a will were married.

Nearly two thirds were aged 40 to 59. Not the younger crowd we expected.

People came from 20 different countries, led by Italian, Indian and British residents.

9 in 10 people we asked wanted a matching will for their partner.

Choosing who inherits was not the hard part. The most common place people stopped was their own passport number. So we changed it: you can now skip it, get a draft of your will straight away, and add the passport later.

What's next: the free week is over. Until Monday 9 November it's AED 199 for a single will or AED 299 for a couple, instead of AED 1,199 and AED 1,799. The court's registration fee is separate and paid to the court directly.

If you claimed a free will and haven't finished it, it's still yours. There's no deadline.

Trying to earn some money as a student in Dubai.

Hey everyone!

I’m a student based in Dubai, currently unemployed and trying to make some money using my development skills.

I’ve been building websites and working on different tech projects, and I thought I’d reach out here in case anyone needs help with a website or knows someone who does.

I can help with building websites from scratch, improving existing ones, and even optimising websites so businesses have a better chance of appearing in AI-powered search tools like ChatGPT.

I’m happy to work with smaller budgets because I understand not everyone can afford to hire an agency.

If you’re curious about my work, feel free to DM me! I’ll share some examples so you can have a look and decide for yourself. No pressure at all.

I’d genuinely appreciate any opportunities or advice. Thanks for reading! 🙏
