Police in San Pedro Garza García, Nuevo León, arrested 24 skaters (17 men and 7 women) on October 24, 2026, for organizing a nighttime Halloween skate tour ("Halloween en patines") without filing a prior notice under municipal traffic rules.

What do you think?

New skate day New Skate Day

Got myself some new skates. I’ve got a pair of USD Aeon 80’s which I really enjoy, but wanted to try something with a shorter wheelbase and experiment with some natural rocker, so went for the Endless Stoppard frames too with Hydrogen wheels.
I’m really looking forward to skating this setup, it’s chucking it down here today though, so I think my first skate on them will be an indoor venue!

If you’re old, and nervous to get some rollerblades, just do it.

Why does my feet hurt? Former 90s inline speed skater need fit advice.

Just like the title reads I'm a former inline speed skater who last skated on a low top speed boot made by Simmons with 5 80mm wheels. I also had a short lived riedell made 100 series hard shell boot with a 4 wheel plate set-up. I'm 41 now and back into skating after years. I really would love to refurbish these Riedell's but the clips are broken.

So I did some research and found myself looking at rollerblade twisters, powerslide nexts, and FR1s and 2s. I recently scored the FR1 intuition for $220 in great condition. I love the way they ride so far but my right foot specifically feels like it's being complete squished. It's not because I have the buckles too tight. I feel it in the heel and ankle. Would heat molding help this? I know the inserts are heat moldable and I tried it last time I went skating but I don't think I let them set long enough.

I really want to like this setup because I already have it and don't have the option to try on pairs to see what I like we no longer have any shops here at all. Help! I wear a women's size 10 normally. My feet are around 26 cm and not wide but definitely not narrow.

Specific question and discussion Why does my back hurt when skating?

I've noticed that everytime I use my blades, my lower back gets really sore in just a few minutes? I'm relatively new to this so I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong or if it's normal and I get used to it but any advice would help! Thank you!

Specific question and discussion Skate bearing problem: one wheels spin slower, and "purr" as they spin

Post image
6 Upvotes

You can't hear it unless you put your ear to the wheel. I couldnt tell that it was happening until I noticed some hair stuck between the wheel and the frame and decided to clean it.

Spin tested them all and noticed one vibrated/purred on my fingers, while the others didn't. On the outside it doesn't look different to the others. On my right skate it's the back wheel and on the left skate it's the 2nd to last wheel, but way more faintly

I have skated them like that for less than 10 hours total, and I didn't have problems. They feel pretty responsive and stable, and the wheels are silent on good ground.

Should I worry? Is it fixable at home? And if I need to take out my bearings, would you suggest I do it without the special tool? Thanks yall

Edit: I also used a toothbrush to clean around the bearings and to get rid of the hair stuck in the protective ring of the bearing. Does that mess with the lubrication? Doesn't feel like it does bit should I re-lubricate them??

What skates should I buy? I'm quite lost on what to buy

I've skated quite a lot when I was younger but haven't in the last 8 years. I'm looking for something recreational not quite long distance but not into tricks, but I would like to turn quickly.

Budget wise preferable under 400 euros.

Thanks!

I started skating this year maybe in May or June and I really enjoy it and feel pretty confident staying steady. I need help on my backwards strides though. I seem to only be able to skate backwards doing whatever this is. Any suggestions to help with just keeping a straight line?

Specific question and discussion Boots for High Arches

Shopping for new skates and have seen seemingly contradictory comments about which boots work with high arches and which don't. It looks like major brands have made recent changes in boot shape and material etc, so I hoping to get an idea how things are today (Oct 2026).

My left foot is 254 264 mm and right foot about 250 260 mm. I have high arches, medium width, and maybe narrowish angles. I have been skating for a long time (20+ yrs though on softboots) and am looking for a performance fit.

I am mostly considering Twister XT/90R or FR Neo Dual (and planning to get an Endless Coburn frame). I would appreciate experience and thoughts on these models but also other skates that have worked or not worked for high arches.

EDIT: Corrected feet size.

Not sure how often ill use the 3x125 but always good to have the option to. Will be paired with Nova 275 from Next multi coloured most of the time.

And i might get the PDS system(boa) rather than laces and 45° buckle after i get some more reviews on that.

The color looks dope.

Really happy i got it for 180 euros :))

What boot size do I pick? Help with fit?

Thumbnail

I wear size 12 US shoe and boot for everyday, this is a comfortable fit. I have a new pair of 12-12.5 Rollerblade XT skates, they are difficult to strap, as in straps feel to short. Also my foot pushes liner tongue up making it harder for boot plastic to close and both straps to close. If I really work at it, I can get the buckle to grab around the 2nd tooth of each strap but it is very difficult to push the buckle down in lock position. I bought these skates 6 months ago but because they're such a pain in the ass putting on I have not broke them in. So should I sell these and pick up a different pair with a different boot shape and just sell these. I should mention my toe is touching the end of of the liner but not compressed. Is there a fool (me) proof way to measure and get the right boot?

Specific question and discussion UC Vortex 85a Vs Endless 85a

The Vortex are solid wheels—great rebound, stiffness, and precision. However, I just don't trust them when pushing the limits of grip; they feel pretty binary, like an on/off switch. They break into a slide with zero warning. I’m looking for wheels that feel a bit more progressive when breaking traction.

What skates should I buy? New to skating - Which one should I choose?

I’m 37 years old. I’ve never used roller skates, though I have skateboarded—I assume the two are completely different. I’m willing to spend up to €220–€250 on a pair of skates, and I’m considering these two options:

Specific question and discussion Rockering Phuzion Argon Rose 100?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Video of the skates for an idea of what I'm working with.

I just bought the Phuzion Argon Rose 100's. I wanted something cute, but also big wheels for outdoor riding.

I have come to realize my goal is to learn tricks and do more figure like skating rather than speed. From my research doing a rockered set up would give me that manuverability, any recommendations on how to achieve this?

New wheel set up? Or a frame I can use with my current skates and wheels to give the rockered affect?
