Not sure how new this is but I noticed this today. Previously you had an option to 'Save/Unsave' a program. Now there is an additional "Record/Recording' button that shows up which seems to do the exact thing as the Save button. What am I missing here? I only noticed this on my Android device connected to my TV. This extra button doesn't show up on the website portal, nor on my iPhone app.

In the last couple weeks I’m having trouble fast forwarding and rewinding. It used to show the screen as you go so you could stop when you see what you wanted to watch. Now it stays on the frame it stopped on and doesn’t show where the FF or RW progress is.

It’s done this when I watch on my TV or at other people’s houses, so it’s not my TV.

Is anyone else having this issue? Is there some way to “fix” this? It’s really annoying.

Seems this happens more and more frequently...I go to find the original broadcast recording of a 90 Day Fiancé episode (6p my time, 8Eastern for tonight's) only to find there is NO recording and it says instead it will air and record at 10p (rebroadcast).
Instead of adding new fufu splash screens and rearranging things so they are harder to find...how about let's make sure stuff works and correct episodes are aired and recorded?

Sometimes, it will show up a half hour after the original ends, but it is harder to find than that elusive gold Easter egg. Have to go to "now streaming", then down past "go to series" to "watch options" and rub a genie lamp hoping it will show up. None of this is intuitive after searching the show, then episodes and schedule.

This is BEYOND old and I am thinking my ever-increasing payments to Philo might be better suited to a different, more reliable subscription.

Why are my TV recordings being placed in two different areas? Only the last season recordings are found under in the Recordings section under Episodes. The other season recordings are now placed in Broadcast section. It's like this for all TV shows being recorded.

Like Star Trek, for instance. Only my season 3 recordings are populated in Episodes. Any other recordings, are only found in the Broadcast section.

Just today season 1 episode 1 of Love Boat was recorded. Yet if I go to Episodes, the recording is not there. Only season 10 is populated with recordings. I have to go to the Broadcast section to find that season 1 recording.

It still would be irritating but tolerable if the Broadcast section had some organization. But episodes are all over the place. Not arranged chronologically by season and episode. If I'm looking for something specific, I have to scroll through everything to try to find it. This is very inconvenient and disorganized. This is the only platform I've ever seen organized like this

It wasn't always like this. All episodes were found under the Episode section. You could scroll to any season and episode to read the summary. And either view the episode if you had recorded it, or it would indicate when it was set to air and record at some future date. All nice and neatly organized in one area.

Paramount and hbo max app are meeting. How can s Philo handling the app. Is hbo max still part of Philo or will they add paramount plus to Hilo?

I swear these people just keep doing weird stuff with the app for no reason except one programmer must think it’s cool.

Now when I launch the app I get this weird Philo video that I guess is supposed to sound like a film projector or something? WTH is this?

It startles everyone in room, every time it happens.
And if that’s not bad enough, if you happen to highlight something in the “trending live” section it starts playing that in the background!

Why in the name of all that is holy can’t you people just make the app better, and more reliable, and stop introducing weird crap that creates problems.

Please roll this stuff back and just gives us an app that works well.

AMC+ is on sale for 40.00 for the year , i have AMC+ on Philo right now, is it the same in the standalone? don't like how Philo make you buy the Bundle to get AMC+ ad-free

Any reason the last couple of Forged In Fire episodes didn't record and aren't showing up even when doing a search?

I'm watching a series, 2 episodes in. During a break, the screen freezes. It doesn't return to the show.

How do I fix this? It's very annoying.

Do they offer all seasons of shows or just the most recent?

I have a ton of saved shows and can’t keep track of when new episodes or seasons are available. In addition to having the shows with new episodes at the beginning of my Saved list, they also said “new episode”, that’s no longer the case. I have to actually click on the show and scroll down to see if a new episode is available. Anyone else annoyed by this?? Stop trying to fix what wasn’t broken, Philo!

NOTE: Only see it available in the 'Profile Settings' via web browser. Do not see it within the ROKU or FIRE TV app.

I 'hope' this does what I think it will and 'record / save' all content in the LIVE channels for future airings. It will be nice having a 'saved' copy of content you may have missed adding to your saved library. 👍

Once you enable Philo Vault, we’ll automatically record all shows and movies that air on Philo from that moment on.

You’ll have access to Philo Vault recordings for 365 days after their air date. However, only shows and movies that you manually Save will be on your Saved page.

Please tell me you can (permanently) revert to the old style! This is horrible looking. I don't want to browse random-ass categories to find the shows I watch regularly.

I mean, come on, I find it hard to believe that ANY customer appreciates re-categorizing their saves. This has to be the most costumer-unfriendly thing Philo has done. Stop trying to look like Prime and Netflix, you're fine on your own

Platform: Apple TV

Regarding the Apple TV watchlist, how does your integration determine what is available? I’ve noticed that typically shows/movies available as VOD will show on the Apple TV watchlist. However, when there is no VOD available, but there are recordings available, the behavior is inconsistent.

Examples:
- Latest episode (recording) of The Daily Show will show up as immediately available on the Apple TV watchlist.
- National Lampoon’s Vacation shows up as available through Philo on the Apple TV watchlist. Note: there are several recordings, but none of them are on premium channels.

But when there are recordings from the premium channels (Starz, MGM+, HBO), yet no VOD available, those items do not show as available on Philo on the Apple TV watchlist.

TLDR: Is there a discrepancy in access to an individual’s Philo recordings, via the Apple TV watchlist, between premium channels vs regular (ad-supported) channels? If so, is this an oversight or necessary evil?

I’ll admit. It’s been a while since I’ve opened Philo. I have just about every streaming app available, but I keep Philo for a couple of shows that aren’t streaming. So today, I opened the app, and went to look at my saved shows, and it’s all broken up into “Channels” and “Recently Saved”, etc. You have to scroll a single top row of recently saved to the right to see your programs. It’s just weird.

Am I missing something? Is there a way to put it back to where it just displays all of your saved shows on the screen? I don’t like this AT ALL.

I use an Amazon Firestick and I have a possible issue with the guide where when I turn my tv off at lets say 11pm while watching and then when I start it up again say at 7pm the next day, the guide is showing things from the 11pm time I shut the TV off last.

Is this a known issue or something I need to solve on my end?

I was shocked to see that the new episode of the 90 Day Fiance spin off Last Resort isn’t available unless I upgrade my plan to $38? Get real! Anyways wondering if anyone has more info about this update, having access to the new episodes day of is my primary reason for my subscription but $38 a month is just excessive especially considering the amount of ads I’ve tolerated the past few weeks. Like why not just have the episodes with ads ? Very confused

I've been having a lot of issues with Philo over the past few weeks, if not longer. It often gives me an unrecoverable error when first opening the app, which can quickly be resolved with a retry. There are issues with deleting items from my Keep Watching list. This was an old problem they had resolved for me, but it occasionally crops back up. Sometimes the guide won't load at all, or it loads empty, or it loads with the incorrect time slots showing. Or it loads okay but won't play a program but rather throws me back to the guide page when I hit play. Right now, as I type this, the guide is empty with the block highlighted just pulsing. I can often delete cache and/or do an uninstall/reinstall and fix these problems, but they simply reappear. There are additional problems beyond what I'm listing here, but these are a good starting point for the complaint box. This thing needs a serious update with bug fixes. I think the plethora of bad/unnecessary changes and "features" that have been added have really screwed up what used to be a straightforward, reliable experience.

when it goes to the next episode it starts playing that episode for maybe 1/3 minutes and then cuts back and replays the last 1/2 minutes of the previous episode and then starts the new episode over

It dose this on my phone and tv and it has done it with me watching river monsters and currently the conners both on demand its been doing this for a week or longer

I hate paying monthly for Philo. I would love to pay for my subscription a year in advance like i do my other streaming apps I have.

Can’t count how many times I’ve had to suffer through ad after ad of the the clearly DEI inspired hires laughing at their own jokes, flashing nose rings, and bragging about what they do on the “what’s in my Philo” TV ads.

Hint: NO ONE CARES!

Now when I go to the Guide from the Home Screen, it starts playing live the last channel I was watching from my last viewing session.   Who thought this would be a good idea??????   I don’t want any channel, shows, series…. or anything auto playing.     I  don’t expect to SEE or HEAR anything when I’m viewing the Guide.    Please turn this off.   Can’t you stop changing the app interface and introducing all these ‘new enhancements” that most people don’t want.     Also, please stop auto playing the next episode when viewing a saved series, and selecting “dismiss” just ends the show without seeing the end of the current show.     It shouldn't be necessary to hold the remote in your hand at the end of a show to stop this non-sense.
