I went back and watched a King's Row replay because I was convinced our Ana had completely ignored me.
From my POV, I was half HP near hotel, asking for healing, and got finished off by a D.Va. It genuinely looked like one heal would've saved me.
Then I watched Ana's POV.
She'd lost line of sight the moment I went around the corner. Meanwhile, a Tracer had been harassing her for basically the entire fight. She was trying to stay alive, landed a sleep dart, and was actually doing a pretty decent job considering what was happening.
I had absolutely no idea. To me, she'd just been standing somewhere behind me doing nothing.
And it made me think about how much information we're missing when we die.
The killcam is great at showing how an enemy killed you. But it doesn't explain what was happening to the rest of your team.
Imagine if, during the respawn timer, you could rewind the last five seconds from a nearby teammate's perspective. Not just supports either. Sometimes I'd love to know why my tank suddenly backed off, or what our other DPS was fighting while I thought I was taking a 1v1.
I know the replay viewer already exists. I'm talking about something you could check in those few seconds before respawning, without leaving the match.
Honestly, I suspect I'd discover that a lot of my "where the hell was my team?" deaths were actually "oh, that's where my team was" deaths.
Would you use something like this, or would it just give people another reason to blame their teammates?
