Why is my post being deleted? Part II

There was a discrepancy between how rules were being displayed on old vs new Reddit (i.e. they were completely different).

Rule 2 is (and has been):

Due to an influx of spam posts, we have set AutoModerator to automatically remove a post/comment if an account is brand new or has less than 25 karma. There are no exceptions to this rule. We will not approve your post if you do not meet the account age (2 days) or karma (25) thresholds.

Hopefully this is better reflected now and should be visible on new Reddit.

Midwestern University

Hello guys. Hope everyone’s having a great cycle so far. Had a quick question on the decision that was given to me for midwestern university. I’m a low stay applicant (MCAT of 496) but everything else is good with 1000+ hours of ECs and a good gpa and they gave me this message. Should I keep my hopes up or is this just a rejection. Any insight on this would greatly help me!

Letters of Interest vs Intent - no IIs

• Upvotes

hi everyone. i am a second time applicant and have applied to 7 DO schools this cycle. i submitted primaries in mid July and submitted secondaries by early/mid August. unfortunately, I haven't heard anything from any of the schools - other then the LMU DCOM email that others have posted on here saying I'm still being considered for a potential interview (received it yesterday). Should I be sending letters of interest or intent to any of my schools even though I haven't received any interview invitations? Or just continue to wait and not do anything else on my end? ** I'm a lower stat applicant, sub 500 MCAT with average GPA but 3.86 in my current masters (MS) program, 300+ hrs direct patient care, 3000+ hrs research, 300+ hrs shadowing, 300+ hrs volunteering, great LORs, etc. several schools i also have state ties to (undergrad/masters/home state etc) .... losing hope :')

Cycle Update— 99 days later

Post image
21 Upvotes

99 days ago I shared my cycle spreadsheet. Here’s an update for those who like numbers!

It can also be disheartening to see this if you haven’t heard— what I’ve noticed is that the timeline is just a mess. Some schools say they’ll get back in a week and then take a month 🤷

If anyone has anything to say about my A’s give me a holler, I’d love to hear firsthand experiences about any of them.

Bummed after being waitlisted after my only interview so far

I got the results less than two weeks after my interview and am feeling particularly sad because this was my top choice. I do have one other interview by the end of this month, but other than that, radio silence... I'm feeling a bit discouraged honestly :(

PCOM SOUTH GEORGIA vs ARCOM

• Upvotes

I was fortunate enough to be accepted into both ARCOM and PCOM South Georgia, but I’m having a difficult time deciding between the two. I currently live in Florida, and my ultimate goal is to pursue a specialty. Which school would be the better choice, especially when considering COMLEX pass rates, clinical rotations, and residency match outcomes? I’m genuinely torn between the two schools and would really appreciate any advice or insight!

No word post interview

Interviewed with DUQ NCOM on 9/29 and still haven’t heard back. Anyone else in the same boat? It looks like they are usually pretty prompt with responses post interview.

Got into a well established DO but I hate the area

I’ve applied MD/DO- 5 IIs > 1A, all others TBD. Only one is an MD. 2MD Rs, 2 MD pre interview waitlists.

I got into one DO that is one of the “top five.” The problem is, I went there in person for the first time and I absolutely hate the location. It is extremely rural and I honestly think I’d be depressed and isolated there much more than what I realized when applying. I also have little interest in rural medicine and see myself living small town/suburban/city as an attending. I know that it’s early in the cycle still, but I’m really concerned that this might be my only A. Out of the DOs I’ve interviewed at, it is the most established and I feel like I’d be a fool choose other options based on prestige, but I’m really concerned about living there for two difficult years of my life. The deposit for this school is coming up in December so I need to make up my mind before then because I’m poor. Any advice for this situation?

Current students at Noorda

I just got the A to Noorda and it’s one of my top choices! I was just wondering if any current students had any insights on what they like or don’t like about the school and just overall what your experiences have been?

Idaho COM - got a phone call asking for few qns.

I received a call from ICOM asking for more information from me, want to check what does the phone call really mean? Anything positive to be happy about or is it even a real call? Colleges normally call folks like this?

ACOM vs PCOM vs OCOM vs DUQ-NCOM??

I am fortunate and grateful to receive A’s from all four of these schools, but I am now tasked with deciding. For reference I am a PA native and want to go into OB/GYN. Any advice?

I also have an interview lined up at NYITCOM in Long Island and I am wondering if I should cancel. I have cancelled interviews at multiple other schools because I would choose one of my A’s over those schools.

I wish they rejected earlier...

For context, I submitted my secondaries mostly in July. Theres a big blob of schools I have yet to hear any news. But now Im seeing people who submitted in September or October getting IIs. Like I know they looked at my app. Stop leaving me hanging. Either give me an II or reject me. Like please I can take it I just think waiting is so gross

Thoughts on DMU?

I just recieved my first A last week to Des Moines University🎉! Anyone who is a student there or familiar with the program have any relevant thoughts to share about the culture, admin, or other things I should know before going in?
