Politics Keep LISD Sane

Current Leander ISD Trustee seeking reelection Paul Gauthier and career political candidate Perla Muñoz Hopkins are shown in videos at school board meetings in 2021 with their disruptive gang of book burners. They don't follow rules to deliver their message. In Paul's years on the school board he has done the same by not following rules and being disruptive. Keep Paul and Perla off the LISD board to maintain sanity.

Vote for Serenity, Chitra, Jason.

Can someone help with a costume?

I’m hoping someone creative may be able to help me. My mom is living with ALS and I had to move her into assisted living (in Cedar Park) about six weeks ago. She’s wheelchair bound at this point, and her communication is limited to a speech assist app. This likely being her last Halloween, she really wants to turn her wheelchair into a Roman chariot. Unfortunately, a friend who was going to help is sick, so she needs to stay away.

I can’t even glue popsicle sticks together correctly, so I’m hoping someone crafty/creative has a couple hours to help me make this happen? I’m happy to pay - I just know this is something I wouldn’t be able to pull off by myself.

Trick or treating

How early is too early? As an adult I've never lived somewhere that had trick or treaters. Now we have an 18 month old and even though she can't eat the candy I'd love for her to experience trick or treating. The only issue is she goes to bed at 6pm, so if that's too early what time should I expect our own trick or treaters?

Trunk or treat events

In past years, I’ve seen so many trunk or treats splashed all over social media, but this year my algorithm isn’t showing me any of them. Does anyone have a list of the various activities around the city this year?

Politics 1½ hour wait to vote at Cedar Park Rec Center

We just voted at the LISD Support Services building across from RBMS and someone who got in line behind us said they were redirected from the rec center due to the wait.

There was one person in front of us when we got there and when we were done voting there were about 20 people in line.

VOTE!

Dentist Recommendations

I'm in the market for a new dentist. I am currently with Premier, but all of the dentists have changed over and now have a completely new team.

My main ask for a new place is that they are very good at numbing/offer options for numbing. I have a gene that makes anesthetics not work as intended, they run out quickly (If they leave for 20 mins "so it can start working" it is already too late) at best or don't work in many cases. I've found that some dentists have better technique, hitting a better place/closer to the nerve which helps a bunch.

Who do you recommend that is great at numbing, quick, and hopefully on the cheaper end of things?

Bonus points if they also do same day crowns.

Anyone know good thrift spots for plant pots and planters around Cedar Park?

My container garden is taking over my patio and I refuse to pay full price for bigger pots at the big box stores. The markup is insane when you need like ten of them. I've been hitting up the usual thrift spots on 1431 but finding large outdoor-safe planters is basically impossible right now. Everyone is selling tiny decorative stuff when I need the big ugly functional ones that hold an actual tomato plant.

My DIY repairs on the old cracked terra cotta are failing miserably and I'm running out of patience and superglue. Work has been exhausting lately and I just want to come home and repot everything without going broke.

Are there any good thrift stores or maybe estate sales around here that actually have decent outdoor garden stuff? Even the slightly chipped kind is fine, I'll just paint it. Just need to know where to look because my back can't handle driving all over Williamson County on weekends hunting for cheap planters. Where do you guys find this stuff locally?

Cedar Park City Council Meeting Tonight! Show up to give public comments on Flock and your expectations

Now is now the time to just sit back! We need everyone to show up from now through to end of the Flock Comment period. Tell them how you feel about the cameras. Tell them what you expect them to do with the input they are collecting. Tell them how cameras affect your daily life.

PLAN to be at each meeting so we can ensure they do not get a chance to 'forget about it!!'

Politics Voting - More Secure Paper Ballot Option Available

Hi everyone, I just wanted to let everyone know about the option to use a more secure method of voting by filling out a paper ballot by hand which is read by an optical scanner. I'm assuming it's an option everywhere but it was definitely available at the rec center. There have been reports of electronic voting machines vote flipping in other counties in the US meaning you choose one candidate but it selects the other for you. See the news stories about Williamson County, Tennessee and people have also reported this happening in Texas, Florida and Ohio but I don't have any verified news pieces on that. The machines let you choose candidates then get a printout slip of your choices and the printouts showed democrat selections being flipped to republican. At a minimum please double check your choices on your printout slip before you submit it. If you see a vote flip then report it to the election judge, local news media, and anywhere else you can. More people need to know about this and that there is a more secure option. I had researched which machines our county used previously and they were not the type that were previously identified as vulnerable but we all need to stay vigilant.

Edit: As we have always said, every accusation has been an admission (of what they were secretly doing or trying to do) to misdirect. Just make sure you're double and triple checking to make sure your actual vote is counted, correctly. Some people have had to make selections 4 different times before it came out correct.

Dolly's sister reported it happening to her amongst many others: https://www.aol.com/articles/dolly-parton-sister-says-machine-181531000.html

In Bexar County someone said it happened in front of their eyes with their hands off the machine so it wasn't a fat finger issue https://youtu.be/xPw1QE0IKkE

Florida reports: https://www.palmbeachpost.com/story/news/politics/elections/2026/10/22/florida-ballot-marking-machine-accuracy-how-check/92381164007/

There's countless other reports of it coming out now and a bunch of local news stations covering it. That's why we need to make sure everyone knows to check and check again. Or use a paper ballot and be extra careful to fill it out as exactly as possible.
