My goodness… the new X5 in white looks so bland…
Video review popped up on my YouTube feed and holy smokes… this is the new X5? It looks blander than a Jeep Cherokee from this side profile…

[OC] It was fun while it lasted
I had just gotten back home from work. I was going to take a shower and go to sleep and then I heard a bang. The driver "wasn't going that fast and doesn't know what happened." I'm at a loss for words, how do you hit a parked car? I'm not sure if it can be salvaged or not but after seeing my car like this I don't want it back I hope they total it out.

curious to see what is the community’s overall thoughts on the new BMW M350?
Personally I think it’s awesome and lovely, but maybe the interior could be slightly more differentiated between this and the regular 3 series

Build Thread A little proud of myself
So, one year ago, I lost my 330 G20, I was just learning into mechanics and barely knew how to do an intake. But one year later now I’m tearing apart my N55 like it’s nothing, have 2 BMWs now, one for daily and one purely to drift, and gotta say I’m a little proud of my progress so far at 21. Paid off the 535, insurance for both cars is only 200 a month in NYC, and more to come, since I’m getting the pure 750, a new HPFP, custom tune for both cars and the 330 will get catless headers. Ready to go into 2027 and see where I go from here.

One Year of Ownership
One year down with my daily driven 2000 540iT, and boy have I learned a lot! I made the switch from a 2018 WRX that I bought new and had paid off to this, because I wanted a V8, a wagon, something with character, and to own another one of the cars that teenage me lusted after. I bought it sight unseen over the phone from a sketchy dealership in NorCal. I had a reputable shop local to the dealership do a PPI and the list of stuff they missed is longer than the list of things they found. It was delivered to me on a car carrier, with a dead battery and a massive, undisclosed coolant leak from a crack at the neck of the top radiator hose. And I was off to the races with a car I had zero familiarity with. I've done a lot of work on this car in the last year. I also swore a lot, questioned all of my decisions, wrote a couple for sale ads I never posted, put some miles on it, made some great memories, and fell in love with this demanding piece of German engineering. I've done all the work myself (except mounting the tires), so there's been plenty of trial and error and a lot of learning. It's getting easier as it goes. I still have some big items to tackle. But I think she's here to stay.

Build Thread BMW gave the M760i a V12 and forgot to give it a soundtrack.
The M760i has one of the coolest engines BMW ever put into a sedan, but from the factory, you'd barely know there's a V12 under the hood.
We recently worked on one and wanted to see how much of that V12 character we could bring out with a custom exhaust.
Went with 3.5-inch piping, megaphones, a rear X-pipe, and valves to keep things civilized when needed.
It's definitely got more of that V12 howl now, without completely losing its luxury sedan personality.
Do you guys prefer the M760i quiet and understated, or should BMW have given it a more aggressive exhaust from the factory?

M-ish B58 oil pump recall in Korea
This is the service invoice and the parts they replaced / installed. In case anyone is curious. I also did an oil change since they were offering a 20% discount.

I made the decision. 840i is the way to go.
Last time I posted here I wanted to get as much information about M850i and 840i. I even considered M8 (standard or Competiton) but in the end I made the decision to buy 840i. Not now because my dream car is an absolute priority - Chevy Camaro ZL1. It has V8 so I won't need to buy another one. And the fact that M850i and M8 have "high risk engines" does not help at all. I know that there are people that do not have any problems and enjoy these cars to their fullest (there is no deny that there is no replacement for V8) but unfortunately the risk exists. But I'm not willing to take it. It's such a shame because the car is just beautiful. So when the time comes, I'm going to pick the newest 840i possible.

Black or Silver 193m’s?
Hi guys here is my E90 325i LCI with style 193m wheels
Sorry if this has been asked a million times
They’re currently black but in pretty rough shape. I’m thinking of having them refurbed and powder coated back to OEM silver. Which looks better?

2027 X5 40i Black
Had to take in my G30 for a recall and checked out the new X5. I don’t know exactly how to feel about it but I’ll let you decide for yourself. Thought I’d add these pictures since I haven’t seen many black X5s on Reddit yet.
I was not a fan of the touch steering wheel….

POV - Neue Klasse i3 checked out
See for yourselves how you like it.
Especially compared to the older classic models.
Interestingly enough it’s on display in Hungary whereas in my hometown in Germany there nowhere to be seen.
Now, tell me how you like it

Buying Help BMW 640D Gran Coupe-advice
Hello. I’d be interested to hear your thoughts on the following matter.
I own a BMW 640d Gran Coupé with about 170,000 km on the clock; it is very well-preserved, in good technical condition, and essentially fully loaded with options. I’m debating whether to perform a major engine service (replacing the timing chains, bearings, etc.) and keep driving it, or to sell it—perhaps at a lower price—and buy a G30 5 Series (diesel or petrol). Which option do you think makes more sense?

The 228 is a MINI, but so what?
I've always liked small fast cars and rented a 228 sDrive from Sixt recently and the experience blew me away. I have to say its the only car that I've driven that gave me the "small car fast" feeling that I have when I drive my 2006 A3. I've rented the 330i and 430i and although they were luxurious and fast, I've never quite felt that exhilaration factor.
Like they say, "different strokes for different folks", I get why people who are used to RWD BMWs dislike how the 2GC handles, but there's no reason to discount the people who like them.
To test out myself if its just a MINI I even rented the F66 Cooper S. Really fun car, but honestly the torque I felt when flooring the pedal - the 228 beats any of the cars I've listed here. Sure its probably just the "feeling" due to its weight but if my A3 gave out today, there's no other car in this price range I'd rather get. I kind of felt like its a four door, slightly detuned version of the JCW (I test drove one and yes MINI fans will hate me for saying this).
On the other areas, I know some hate way it looks. Ironically, I love the front but not loving the back and the interior is kind of OK and sDrive means a ton of torque steer (much like a MINI but nobody faults a MINI for this) - though I'd probably get the xDrive.
The question also begs, why not the GTI or A3? The new A3 surprisingly felt less engaging than my 18 year old 2.0TFSI and I didn't quite like the ride and infotainment in the GTI (I know, its a personal thing).
So all this to say. Not everyone buys an "entry level BMW" for the badge (I avoid Mercedes due to its overly large insignias) - it could just be that they just REALLY REALLY like the way it drives.

How much trust do you put into a PPI at a BMW dealership?
I’m buying a used X3 and wanted to bring it to a BMW dealership for a pre purchase inspection. The car is showing regular maintenance over the last 4 years (it’s a 2023) but just went past the 50K miles warranty. I was wondering, what to expect from the PPI and if it comes back good, is it enough to have a clear mind about upcoming repairs?
Thanks! If you know other things I should look into before buying, please share.
