Whether you’re an incoming student, a long-time townie, or a new professional moving to the area, finding housing in Ann Arbor can be notoriously competitive.
To keep the main subreddit feed clean and make it easier for everyone to find what they need, all housing-related posts must go in this thread.
This is the place to post if you are:
(Note: Surrounding areas in Washtenaw Country like Ypsilanti, Dexter, Saline, and Milan are completely welcome here too!)

I got nervous after seeing that half-assed post from the other day because I loved Blimpy and was looking forward to them reopening. I'll try and keep this brief and you can make your own conclusions.
The good:
The neutral:
The "needs work" and disappointing:
Overall, I sorely missed Blimpy Burger and I'm very happy it's back.
As for the soda machine, like I mentioned they acknowledged something was wrong with their plumbing and the whole machine was shut down. They were giving out free bottles of Kirkland water if you wanted one.
I hope this little review is enough for you to decide whether or not Blimpy is truly "back!"

Hello everyone, I am 25M moving to A2 in a couple of days. I am relocating for work from upstate NY. Wondering if anyone would possibly want to go out to the downtown area for Halloween as I have no plans or know anyone . A little bit about me: I am an active person, love to work out, listen to music and have a good time. I enjoy playing poker with friends and love to experience new culture and things to do. Hoping to make some new friends in this city. If anyone has any tips or favorite places to meet new people, please let me know. Leave a comment or send me a message if you’d like to connect!

Looks like a thief dumped this electric scooter and backpack. If it's yours, I notified Ann Arbor PD so they should have it for you.

I've been getting my dog groomed by Patty and Sara at Pet Supplies Plus on Main St. for a few years. The last time we were in was late August, and I just found out they are no longer working there. I tried a little internet sleuthing before posting here, but no luck. Does anyone know if they are still working locally and if so, where?

Hey, I’m 22 and I’m looking for people to hang out with for Halloween! I actually had a bunch of people on a local facebook page even tell me they’re fine w people my age trick or treating as long as we’re a small group and respectful
About me:
- I love birdwatching, nerdy things like d&d, magic the gathering, emo and pop punk music, Dan and Phil. I’m a biology student who’s currently on medical leave from my usual university.
Edit: about 90 people on Facebook have invited me to their neighborhoods for trick or treating haha. Still don’t know if I’ll do it.

We're looking at getting the carpet in our basement replaced, I know the big boxes do it (but I think they just sub it out). Anyone have any good experiences with someone local?

Hi! Wanted to learn bass and would prefer a woman instructor but haven’t had any luck with searching online.

Went there recently and they’ve fully pivoted away from a BBQ joint to a TexMex place. It was pretty underwhelming…I used to love their old menu. Curious if I had a bad night or if others felt this too? They also used to have killer fries and now they’re clearing using premade, Sysco frozen fries. It now feels like an in between of Condado and Chilis. Also they randomly have Detroit style pizza? RIP to the original concept.

Howdy folks - what do we know about the MMM gravel pit in Ann Arbor township? I know some neighbors are suing and there is seemingly some progress with the mine. This website is also great! But I’m considering buying a house in the area but I’m not sure it’s a good idea. Thoughts? Would you buy a house in that area?

Does anyone have insight on the kindercare daycare in Dexter specifically? I know kindercare as a whole has a bad reputation but what about this specific center? I thought it looked nice but the reviews seem mixed.
It isn’t my top choice but all of the centers I have above it don’t have space right now.

Hello! I’m getting married in the Ann Arbor area this summer, and i’m looking for advice on a place for myself/family/wedding party to stay and get ready. We are all out of town and will be staying there for 2-3 nights.
I’m looking for recommendations on places to stay (hotels/airbnbs/etc) that specifically have a good space for a group of around ~10-12 to get ready together. I would especially love to hear from anyone who has personally done this. Thanks in advance!

The wingstop here is the worst wingstop I’ve ever been to. I can’t even eat here anymore because the service is so bad. They take 45 min to get me my wings and they’re rude.
Where should I go for wings now

Preferably a non-chain.
Basil Babe is a bit ketchup-y for me and Bangkok Chinatown Cuisine is bit bland.

I’m strictly talking atmosphere. where do you go to read, look out the window, daydream? Comfortable seating and slow paced feel?
ETA I dont know guys, your idea of cozy is very different from mine lol. An example would be the Sweetwaters on Washington- comfy chairs, warm lighting, a window to look out.

Hi! I work on the north side of AA and I am looking for some female friends who would be interested in getting together during lunch time for lunch or a walk or after work for a walk.
I am in my late 30sF. Progressive. Environmentalist. Pro Union. Age of new adult friends doesn't really matter (20s-70s+). Really anyone I can have a great conversation with about life.
I enjoy hiking, long walks, pottery, art, environmental activism, union rights, liberal activism, pro LGBTQIA+ rights. I love thai food, coffee, and exploring new areas. I am also a huge geology buff and love rock hunting.
I do not enjoy debating politics.
Feel free to send me a DM if you would be interested in chatting!

Hi all, 23M here who just moved to A2 a few months ago for law school. I've loved getting to explore the city so far and really enjoyed the restaurant/bar scene, but I still haven't found that "one" place that's the go-to that I plan on spending an inordinate amount of time at. I know folks rightfully might want to gatekeep their favorite spots, but if people could point me in the right direction to some off-the-beaten-path places I may have ignored so far, I'd greatly appreciate it.
Here are some of my considerations: Divey vibes are good, late hours are good. Would love to meet townies/maybe other graduate students there, the fewer undergraduates the better. Ideally a place I could go alone to escape the law school, proximity to the Law Quad is nice but not required. Two things that are kinda important to me are the social factor and having TVs for sports. Big plus if they have steel-tip darts, but not necessary. And food!
I thought I would include a couple of places I have enjoyed so far:
HopCat: Love the food, love the staff, honestly almost perfect, but it's more of a restaurant and less of a "bar" so there's not much in the way of socializing besides the people directly next to and in front of you.
8 Ball: Hours, prices, food, vibes. Love the games.
Bab's: Really enjoy the atmosphere, actually felt social and could mingle with folks, seemed a bit older-on-average when I went, but no food and cannot deal with the line that forms.
Regents Field: Seemed promising but a little sleepy and also more of a sitdown restaurant vibe so not as big on the social factor, also seemed a little sleepy ever time I've been.
Conor O'Neils: Definitely on the right track here
If I find The One first round's on me! Excited to try out any and all suggestions folks have :)
Edited to add: I've gotten some comments about Ashley's and Casa Dominicks's, nothing against them, I have probably been to those two places here more than anywhere else, but I think it and Casa Dominick's are staunchly "law school" student bars we frequent, and I'm kind of looking for something a little bit of my own in a way.
