My favorite circuit is Mount Panorama, located in Bathurst, New South Wales, Australia
Bathurst is absolutely insane : it has a huge 174-meter elevation change, with a really steep climb and a super dramatic descent. The track is extremely technical, especially up on the mountain, where it’s narrow, twisty, and lined with walls, so even the smallest mistake can cost you. Down below, though, there are long straights where the cars go over 300 km/h. And the craziest part is that outside race weekends, it turns back into a regular public road open to everyone. On top of that, it hosts legendary events like the Bathurst 1000 and the Bathurst 12 Hour

It’s just amazing what you can find on fb marketplace. I’ve been slowly building my rig for a while now mainly with second hand stuff. I’ve had a few bargains but after suffering with a Playseat Chalkenge for so long I was looking to upgrade to cheap rig and was very worried about the sturdiness of the cheaper options. Then on marketplace I find this TrakRacer Tr8 v1 for £150 with next level seat and all peripherals. Very happy. Keep thinking I really ought to have DD wheelbase too but I just love the TGT-II.
This is pre cable tidy btw 🤣

My racing sim is ready to try out. Here is a little re-enactment of Adelaide '94, the Michael Schumacher incident.
The next time Schumi tried this was in 1997. Got himself disqualified from the entire championship for it. But in 1994 for some reason he got away with it!
The game runs on top of your original copy of Grand Prix 2 by Geoff Crammond from 1996 and updates it with a modern 3D engine, GPU acceleration, GP4 mod packs and more.
Hope you enjoy it folks!

It just does not get much better. Please enjoy a bunch of screenies from two very-very wet races.
The Viper GTS-R at Catalunia and the Aston Martin DBR-9 at Spa.
It is a great workout both for feet and hands. Like dancing a salsa while juggling at the same time.

Hi everyone,
I’m planning an EU road trip next year and along the way I will be heading to the Nurburgring for a few laps with my mk7 GTI. I’m just looking to see has anyone had any experience or advice on what to expect. Will it be the same layout as it is in iracing and the rest of the sims and what would be the best way to practise? I know it won’t identical but if anyone has any advice from sim to real life please let me know!
I’ve never driven on a track before so I will obviously not be pushing crazy as I would on a sim lol.
Thanks

I've finally completed my setup. For those who are interested in buying RS stuff from Logitech, I recommend it. I had to drill 2 holes for the clamp and also purchase longer bolts to mount the handbrake. But it all works perfectly now.
I've only tested EA WRC and Forza Horizon 6 so far, but I plan to buy more racing games.
Ask away if anyone has any questions about these specific products.

I'm a (lapsed) console racer, so I was excited to see the Fanatec Project Obsidian wheel prototype, with a built-in UDP-compatible screen and so many rotaries & encoders. I saw that one of the most common complaints was the lack of buttons (6 on the front plus two on the back), with one person saying that there weren't enough buttons on the wheel to support their iRacing setup.
I know that rotaries and thumb encoders are used to adjust settings mid race, and you need to be able to navigate menus with a thumb stick or funky switch of some kind, but I am curious what people are using their steering wheel buttons to do.

So the picture pretty much sums up my situation lol.
On the left is what I’d love to have one day, and on the right is what I’m currently working with. My dream setup would cost around $4000, but right now my actual budget is about $1050 being my absolute maximum.
I’ve been playing racing games on a controller since the first Forza Horizon, and I’ve been getting into ACC over the past months. I’ve always loved cars and motorsport, but now I really want to take it to the next level.
My main goal is drifting. I’d love to get into real-life drifting eventually, so I want to start learning car control, countersteering and throttle control in the sim. I also really enjoy GT3 racing and want to keep doing that for fun.
I’ve spent the last few weeks looking at pretty much everything. Used Moza R5 bundles, Fanatec CSL DD 8Nm setups, Simagic Evo Sport, cheap steel cockpits, aluminium profile rigs… and honestly, the more I research, the harder it gets to decide.
I’m also 194cm tall and around 115 kg, so finding a cockpit that actually fits me is another problem.
I’m perfectly fine with using my current PC and single monitor or old 40” TV for now. I don’t need triples or a new PC yet. I just want a solid starting point that I can enjoy and upgrade over time.
I know I don’t need everything from my dream setup right away, and I’m willing to make compromises. I just don’t want to waste money buying things I’ll want to replace almost immediately.
So if you were in my situation, with around $900-1050 to spend on the wheel, pedals and cockpit, how would you start?
Would love to hear your experiences, especially if you’re into drifting as well!

I finally feel comfortable showing off my rig on here! It's taken me over a year and a half to get to this point, but after I went to the Sim Racing Expo it taught me a lot about how it should actually be put together and how I should be seated too (special thanks to James Baldwin's video for some extra tips after I got home: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MlDwTLpcu30
I took nearly the whole thing apart and put it all back together, taking the time to properly tweak spacing and angles and everything in between to make sure it was perfect for me and I didn't have a single part of my body feeling any discomfort. Now that I've tested it in everything I usually play (as you can see LMU is at the top of the list, then AC and AC Rally as my main 3 with some dabbling in everything else) I'm really happy and proud of this.
Younger me starting with the T300RS clamped to the desk would be so proud of how far this journey has come. It was worth it to start there, move from that to a wheel stand and then to this just to be sure I wanted to continue sim racing. Fast forward to today, now that I have the ability to sit down, flip a switch and have everything instantly turn on and connect to be ready I've found I race or drive way more than I normally would. It's been well worth the time, money and effort IMO.
A quick comment on the Upshift R-Pro since there's not many reviews out there for it, I would highly highly recommend on my side. It's cheaper than many competitors out there, the aluminium is good, thick and solid and while the wheelbase and pedal trays are basic, they get the job done and I was able to mount my stuff in the correct spot without any problems so I can't complain in the end.
Communication when I purchased was great, instructions were nearly perfect (though I had to freestyle a bit since there were some incorrect measurements, but nothing egregious at least) and overall once it was set up it was immediately clear how good it was! Been rock solid ever since and I'd be happy to recommend people purchase from them, feels good supporting something "local" as well so to speak!
If you guys have anything to add to it feel free to suggest things! I'm at a point now where I don't entirely know what I want next, though I've already ruled out a few bits like motion for a couple reasons. I have a Beyond 1 that gets occasional use so VR is covered at least which is always good, but I think my next buy might be finally saving up for an expensive wheel or replacing the Simagic shifter with something that feels a bit better to use. Always open to ideas!

Hey all, I’m looking to upgrade my rig, mainly for rally (DiRT Rally 2.0, RBR), and I’m deciding between a 3DOF and a 6DOF motion system. Both would be coupled with an active belt tensioner.
Thanks!

Raceroom
I've seen quite a few negative posts about the update. It looks like it's not worked out for some people, but personally, I'm impressed. I've noticed a few little bugs, like the option menu freezing when changing certain things, but overall, it's a thumbs up from me. I've noticed my FPS going up, I'd guess by 10/15% with everything maxed, and the FFB feels better too. I can't really complain for a sim that's free, and since I've got all my content on sale, I'd say I've probably spent £30/40 overall on cars and tracks.

Hey everybody, I've been simracing on iRacing since August of last year, and I've had a blast with it so far. I mostly do oval racing, sitting near 3k, and do some road racing on the side. When I got my equipment, I went with budget options, a Moza R3 along with the SR-P lite pedals.
Now that I've been doing this for a while now, I was looking at an upgrade. For right now, I can only choose one upgrade, and I was hoping for some advice. I would either upgrade my wheelbase from the R3 to the R12, or I could get load-cell pedals (and maybe a clutch pedal as well). I'm just not sure what the better option would be without a frame of reference for how they would feel in comparison. Thanks in advance!

I have a line on this seat for a planned sim build. Having a hard time finding any info on. Has anyone come across this brand or style before? They are only asking 120 so I think I’ll try to pick it up regardless.

I will be picking up a used SC 2 pro tomorrow. It was purchased 1 year ago (seller has invoice) with 1 year warranty left.
Am I am safe with this 1 year warranty or would you recommend to check the SC 2 pro working before ? The seller has only the wheelbase.
How (if) can/should I check myself with a laptop?
Thanks for any help!
Thanks

Hey everyone, so here's the issue: I've been using the MOZA R3 bundle with the stock round wheel and no mods for about six months. Recently, my wrists have started hurting on the palm side after around an hour of driving.
I've already Googled this a few times and tried adjusting the wheel angle, seating position, and making sure my wrists are aligned with my forearms. After discussing it with AI, I've started wondering if the stock wheel's diameter is simply too small for me.
Has anyone else experienced a similar issue? Did switching to a larger wheel help, or was it something else?
Thanks in advance!

Hello,
Weird question but my dad recently passed and my mom and I have no idea what we are looking at here. Neither of us has any interest in a new hobby at the moment so we have decided to sell. I don’t want to use AI and I don’t know anyone that has anything like this so here I am. Could someone help me figure out how to value this? Am I better off selling in pieces or as a whole? Any help would be appreciated and thank you in advance.

Looking to build a first time sim and have some promo codes and came across these logitech items. Are they good? The bundle is cheap, but i feel like 8nm would feel like too little too soon. Is the 11nm a good buy?
How does this compare to something like the Moza r9 or r12? Most people talk about Moza or Simcube, and ive never heard anything regarding logitechs products. Thanks.
