Another circle back to one of our regular spots for a chill time. As stated in the title, our next Meet will be at The Collective on Friday, the 30th, at 7pm! With it falling so close to Halloween, feel free to dress up, if you'd like!
The Collective is located in Midtown OKC and features several kitchens, a bar, indoor and outdoor seating, which includes a rooftop patio. It is kid-friendly, so bring the little ones, if you want! They also allow pets in the outdoor areas.
The usual info below:
People can feel free to come and go as they please and we feel this will provide a more laid back atmosphere for everyone to mingle and move around. It's all about relaxing, having a good time, and meeting new people. Some of us will arrive early and have orange leis to make us easier to find, which we will provide for everyone. So, if you see someone wearing an orange or red lei then it should be okay to approach them and verify our location and grab a lei.
We have began moving away from sending reminder DMs, so it may be a good idea to follow my posts and/or keep an eye on the sub highlights so that no one gets left out. We are very grateful for everyone's interest and hope that as many of you can make it as possible. I'm going to add in the link to my previous post below. Do not hesitate to reach out to me at anytime, if you need.
If you're new to town or just wanting to get out, whatever your reason, we hope that you find a way to attend. We aim to provide a fun, low-key, and family-friendly environment for everyone to just chat and chill. No pressure.
Hope to see you all there!!
The Collective: 308 Northwest 10th Street, Oklahoma City, OK, 73103
Friday, October 30th, @ 7pm

I compiled a document focused on free community meetups (free things you can do while meeting people)
for that reason, I havent included many (if any) solo free things to do (such as going to parks or libraries) since this list is supposed to be community-building-oriented
uf you have things to add please lmk and I will get to it when I can!
The list is long so it is in Docs form

hello, i've been taking care of these guys as best i can for a year (or more depending on which). im houseless and every day i cant help but wish they had a real home with people that will love them. i mean , i love them but...thats why im lookin. ya know? yall know already the shelters dont really want strays especially since theyre essentially fostered already. they eat purina one and have regular tick/flea treatments. they are outside dogs, but the light brown one and the white one could tolerate indoors im sure. the dark one is HIGH ENERGY and could be trained to work. she just turned 1yr. lmk if you can take one or if you want more info. thx.

Hey all!
What are some fun date night activities to do in OKC this Thursday? Things that don't involve food or dining.
Something fun for a date night!
Thank you!

This is the fourth detainee death reported by the OK County Detention Center this year amidst a new, tighter policy on releasing info about deaths inside the jail.

“Sir, you have two options: Option A, you turn your shirt inside out, and you can stay. Option B, you can leave now or you’ll be arrested.”
He went with option B.

Rode by Louie's Lakeside about 1215 on my bike ride today and noticed a tent set up on the patio with what looked like a wedding reception going on (bride, cake, etc), but then saw tents set up in the parking lot, a bunch of identical RVs, rental box trucks, semis in the parking lot and people standing around them which, to me indicates they're doing a shoot there today. There wasn't anything or anyone stopping me from riding by, but does anyone know for sure if it was indeed the movie being shot?

What are people who have no kids doing for Halloween this year ?
We are adults, mid to late 30s. No kids. Not huge partiers, but want to do something fun for Halloween since it’s on a Saturday. Any recommendations?

Does anyone have a recommendation for an employment lawyer in the area? Also, do they do free initial consultations?

moved from tulsa and miss my book club horribly - would there be any interest in a fiction/thriller/horror book club here in OKC?

Plus size girlie here (33, 250 lbs) who struggles with workout confidence. I used to have a bestie who would work out with me at the apartment complex gym but we moved to different states and I lost my drive and confidence to go. I would really love to find some chill girls who would like to go or have been going and know of a pretty good gym to go to.

I imagine Copperhead (the one with Jason Mamoa) counts as one of the four because filming wraps in early November. Two of the other productions are called "Project Long Table" and "Project Woods," and I'd be thankful if anyone could shed light on what exactly those are in the comments. As for the fourth one, we have no idea what it is.

I'm always seeing these stories about tenants being taken advantage of and having zero leverage when OKC landlords try to f8ck them over. I’ve seen this firsthand. A friend was forced to sign a new extended lease with the same landlord because the unit they were in was not up to code. Instead of amending the lease to move a different unit onto the note due to the code violations, the landlord required them to sign a new longer lease for a different unit.
A recent report by Oklahoma Watch talked about tenants going months without functioning air conditioning and others losing electricity and hot water (https://www.kgou.org/housing/2026-08-12/landlords-are-failing-to-provide-essential-services-but-tenants-have-little-recourse). Housing advocates interviewed for the report described Oklahoma’s existing tenant remedies as inadequate. I wish I had heard candidates talk about reforming the tenant laws so they aren't so lopsided in favor of landlords here, there was nobody on the campaign trail talking about it.
If the tenant doesn’t pay rent within five days of when its due, the landlord can terminate the lease. But the same landlord can fail to provide essential services for 10 days with zero consequences.
Landlords should be placed under arrest when they fail to provide essential services that tenants are paying for for this long. Tenants should be able to file criminal complaints against landlords for this type of devilry.
I say this as a homeowner. The difference in treatment I see as someone with a mortgage vs someone renting is nuts.
November 14th, The OKC DSA Mutual Aid Working Group will be hosting a free sexual health and preventive care clinic in the OKC metro.
We will be providing,
- STI testing and Treatment
- BV and Yeast Diagnosis and Treatment
- Referrals for No-cost Mammograms
- Birth Control* cost of prescriptions is not included, but low-cost options can be sent to the Pharmacy
- Cervical Cancer Screening
- Pregnancy Testing
- Diabetes Screening
- Cholesterol Screening
- Blood Pressure Screening
If you or someone you know would benefit from the clinic, sign up via the QR code or this link: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScn_HuoP2C4-0L45n5R0uwd5lNfvXMoXD_XhKoYThssAMnGWA/viewform?pli=1 and a scheduling nurse will reach out to you. This service is offered by the Edmond Women’s Clinic in partnership with Oklahoma City Democratic Socialists of America Mutual Aid Working Group.

I’ve had them for 7+ years but have always been really self conscious about them, I wear long sleeves mainly to hide them, and especially as a black person, I do get strange comments and looks whenever I’m wearing short sleeves. I just get…extremely embarrassed because I’ve always been told “it’s a thing white people do” which I hate because why stick race to mental health- but I’m getting off topic. I just want an artist who isn’t a total asshole (my last one slapped my arm upon meeting because I tattooed myself several years ago before covid)
I’m opened to any suggestions that’ll just help me feel more confident wearing my arms and legs out- doesn’t even have to be tattoos. Dissociative amnesia doesn’t help because I hardly remember most of my scars or the reasons for them. Any help please and thank you

I was planning on going to Orr Family Farm this Friday, but there’s an 85% chance of rain. Now, with this being Oklahoma, for all I know it’s gonna be sunshine and rainbows on Friday. But in the slight chance it actually does rain us out, what are some fun rainy date ideas? Preferably fall themed but I’m open to all ideas! :)

I would love to read any memories people have of Bunte Candy Company, or its predecessor, Williams Candy Company, that manufactured candy in OKC until the mid-1990's. [EDIT: until the first decade of the 21st century.]
