Missing Teen, last known location Boulder

I’m searching for my 17 year old son, Jeremiah Frye. He is about 5’8 - 5’10 and drives a 2010 Red Ford Ranger with all black wheels. He ran away from his home in Illinois Thursday. He lives there with his dad and I live in Longmont. His last know location was a ping we got off a cell phone tower, that put him in North Boulder area on Friday afternoon.

No hits on his truck plates since then, and his phone has been off or in airplane mode since Saturday morning. His dad and I think he may have went into the mountains.

He left with a duffel bag (unsure of the contents, but presumably only clothes and maybe a few provisions), some cash, and a few pairs of hiking/military boots. His close friends have no clue where he went or why. He is a popular and respected kid among his peers and his local community and we are all beside ourselves trying to locate him.

Please keep a look out for him or his truck and contact Boulder PD if you see anything🙏🏻

Weekend Trip with Toddlers

Me, my husband, and 2 sons (2.5 & 4) will be coming in mid-May and I don't know what to expect. I've done Denver in December and RMNP in August (from Alabama).

What should I expect to do with 1.5 days in Estes and/or RMNP? I also want suggestion on places to stay but (call me boujee) I'm not a fan of a lot of the suggested places I've seen so far. I want a bit of an updated, cleaner feel to a room instead of a 30 year old, mountain cabin.

He lives there with his dad and I live in Longmont. His last know location was a ping we got off a cell phone tower, that put him in North Boulder area on Friday afternoon. We have been working with local authorities and also had a hit on his plates via flock camera, (but that hit was Thursday in Nebraska).

No hits on his truck since then, and his phone has been off or in airplane mode since Saturday morning. His dad and I think he may have went on foot into the mountains. He is a fairly competent outdoorsman, but we do not know what all he may have with him to help him navigate the Rockies.

Has anyone tried the Wayfinder? Celebrating our anniversary and would like a nice meal. I know true upscale isn't really a thing. Must be open on Mondays in October. What about MacGregors in the Stanley? We are not really vibeing with the menus from Bird and Jim or Ember but I know they are respecte

The Stanley Hotel ghost tour was.. awful?

Did anyone else have this experience?

I was already two drinks in and expecting to be silly and a little creepy and what I got was a painfully boring experience.

Over $90 for 3 people, I was actually embarrassed and apologized to my friends after this tour.

Not a single person laughed at any of the guides “jokes” he went around with his phone to show people pictures of ghosts. Any theater kid at the local high school would have better cadence than our guide. Not a single person reacted to a single photo lol it was so bad I was actually uncomfortable.

We didn’t even go in the actual hotel!!! We were taken to a concert hall and the basement area where we could hear the next tour group behind us rushing us along.

They barely even talked about Stephen king or the movie which is why this place is famous let’s be real.

Just laughably terrible. All the reviews online are great but they’re older. Anyone else have a similar experience?

🚗 PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: FREE PARKING SEASON IS BACK IN ESTES PARK!
Town paid parking enforcement has officially wrapped up for the season, meaning free parking has returned throughout downtown Estes Park!
Town Policy & Parking Details:
* Seasonal Enforcement: The Town of Estes Park operates paid parking during the peak summer and early autumn season (typically late May through mid-October).
* Off-Season Free Parking: From now through the spring, public parking spaces, parking structures, and downtown lots throughout town are free of charge with no meter enforcement required.
* Standard Regulations Apply: While meters are turned off for the season, standard traffic safety laws, accessibility (handicapped) spot restrictions, and overnight parking regulations remain in effect.
As the summer crowds thin out and the pace slows down, it is the perfect time to stroll downtown, support local businesses, enjoy a meal, and take in the beauty of the Rockies without the summer hustle and bustle.
Come on up, enjoy hassle-free parking, and support our local Estes Park community!

Local meetups?

Hello!

My wife and I are new(ish) to Estes Park and have been struggling to find ways to socialize and meet new friends without always having to go down to Boulder or Loveland.

We're interested in any local meetup groups, book clubs, hiking/climbing groups, etc, but we're struggling to find any.

Any advice is welcome!

How does a grown woman make friends in this town? Asking for myself because my 9-year-old is doing better socially than I am.

Okay, Estes Park people, how does a grown woman make friends around here? Asking for a friend. The friend is me. I’m the friend.

Kiddo and I have been living up on Storm Mountain since April, but we’ve finally moved into town, and I’ve decided it’s probably time to start making some actual human connections instead of just waving at people and hoping for the best.
Kiddo has done a fantastic job collecting friends at school, so naturally, I’m the one struggling socially. Nothing like being outperformed by a 9 yr old.

I’m looking for some grown-up friends! People to grab coffee with, go explore with, have a drink with, wander around town, or just sit around and complain about the price of groceries with. I’m pretty easy to entertain.

I work in town, but most of my interactions with adults are currently of the professional variety, and I feel like there’s a limit to how often I can ask someone about their day before they realize I’m just trying to make a friend.

So, Estes Park locals, what’s the secret? Are there clubs? Groups? Activities? Secret friendship ceremonies? Do I just show up somewhere and announce that I’m accepting applications for friends?

Bonus points if you’re also a transplant, a fellow single parent, a fellow introvert pretending to be an extrovert, or just someone who has also wondered how people make friends after the age of 30.

Help a girl out. I promise I’m relatively housebroken, occasionally funny, and excellent at making fun of myself.
Seriously, though, where do the grown-ups go to meet other grown-ups around here?
