I completed the Halloween assignment for the Straw Boss hat and when it was done I got all the rewards but I can't find the hat in my wardrobe. Has this happened to anyone else and if so do you know how to fix it?

Fuck, only now have I realized that the screenshot looks like I brought the one closer to me. You can see the closer one submerged in the ground a little bit. Too bad this is the only picture I took. I swear they both spawned so close, I broke them out destroying only one tile. And conviniently close to the Cargo Crate as well

But the game itself.

Yea, it doesnt have lots of lore. I have played the base game, but not any of the others like survivor or rogue core, so Idont know if those games contain any more lore than the base one has.

Regardless.

Why do they call them bugs?

Is it because of their bodies?

Yea well, either way.

THEY ARE NOT.

Specifically glyphids and heres why.

In the newest season weve been introduced to the ossiran, awesome, yes, I know, but the ossirans have brought something very interesting with them.

Bones.

What about it? Well, what kind of bug has bones?

Insects, are invertebrades, so they shouldnt have bones, actually, they shouldnt have a maxila, and there for they shouldnt have teeth. But we all know the glyphids are not insects. They spiders.

Cool.

THAT DOESNT SOLVE ANYTHING.

Spiders, as insects, shouldnt have them bones in their bodies. So. What are they? Well, to look through spiders characteristics, I have to make a list of what we do have and what we dont have.

So:8

8 Legs: self explanatory, yes, we have 8 legs on the glyphids. Well... spiders, although they have 8 legs they also have articullations in those legs. Specifically, 6. And if we look at the design of most glyphids, they actually have 4! Which by biology standard. Is natural for an insect.

Two segments of the body: yeah. Well, maybe the art of the game doesnt make it that clear, but its there, I see it.

No anthena or wings: exactly, not any anthena or wings on any glyphid! Dont ask about the tusks tho...

Simple eyes: this means that they have normally a poor vision, with the glyphid design actually follows. We dont have to focus on this point since the glyphids live in caves, and most probably adapted to the dark corridors and digging that happens on Hoxxes, ALTHOUGH there is one exception (excluding whatever the hell the brood nexus is) that is the stingtail, which is weirdly funny considering scorpions normally have the poorest eyesight of any arachnid. (Just realized the sceptic spreader has eyes too, but doesnt change much)

Style of feeding: No. Ok, so to explain this one, lets see, if you dont have a mouth, or teeth, you cant chew food. Sorry for us, glyphids DO in fact have mouths. Which is a BIG deal (that and the BONES)

But glyphids do seem to ingest their food both ways actually, since they produce webbing for trapping and some have acid as a method for decomposing the food.

Method of breathing: so, this one IS reaaaally tricky. Arachnids, normally breath directly out of there mouth or by a book system, which to sumerise are little organs that draw oxigen from the spiders gaps between plating. They vary from time to time, but we dont have a way of finding out.

WELL. If we look at the modifiers from DRG missions, there is one called (low oxigen) which means, you guessed it! You cant breathe. But glyphids do breathe. Huh. Well, for that we take an example from real life, the cave movile, in which there ARE spiders living there with a HUGE gap in oxygen. So from that, we can assume they have specially designed breathing systems to take the little oxygen they can from the air.

This brings another question onto the table that is, what do they actually eat? From biology, the same spiders from cave Movile eat air. Literally, they digest the bacteria from the air to survive which is crazy! But if thats true, then do they have both the capacity of eating thigns normally and inhaling the litrle thingies from god knows where?

Yea. They actually do.

So thats it lads!

HAHA, NO, WE ARENT DONE.

Ok, so they dig, which explains the long front legs and everything, but they actually have another thing that I found is that probably, really probably. Hoxxes has a big gravitational pull. So, to support this, we come back to the bones thingy. Bones, are actually suprisingly important for you. Who could have told? So, the bones in your body, make a way for you to support the preassure earth puts on you. Thats all fun and all, but I want to come back to the dwarves. The dwarves, as said so by the official DRG page are "the only ones that can do this task" which I belive its because they dont need that much oxigen, they have thick bones and a low height, and clearly because they are god.

That leads me to belive that it is actually gravities fault the other companies cannot get in hoxxes!

So that applies for glyphids, which are indeed, the perfect kind of being for an enviroment like this. From their strategy to their anatomy they serve specific purposes. And for that we have their sticky and oozing blood. So. Blood. What about it? Well, the green blood is used for bugs that live in spaces with low oxigen like underwater or... YOU ARE RIGHT. Underground.

So yea, glyphids ARE made for this kind of enviroment. And theres only one thing missing here.

Ehy in the actual fuck do they only attack us and not other species?

Well, its simple actually. There is a "pheromon grenade" and most probably, the other bugs and species foem the cavern have adapted to pass undiscovered, hiding away with these pheromones so that they arent like, swarmed in 3 minuts by the glyphids. And between the drag that is hunting down a hidden deadly foe, or going for the giant groaning piece of metal called doretta that fell out of the sky...

Well, it is self explanatory.

Bu that insinuates that the glyphids organize via pheromones, and thats how they behave as a hunting little family. Bad thing is...

Thas an insect thingy.

Soo, most probably, glyphids are a species of ancient arthropods that hasnt quite gone afar from the separation in arachnids and insects, specifically made for Hoxxes, to live in darkness and guide themselves through the dark. Probably, they eat bacteria, and whatever they can hunt, helped by their fantasy ass maxxila.

But thata just a theory:

A ROCK THEORY.

Sometimes it's hard to find a ledge to stand on when ziplining onto overhangs (i.e. walls facing down).

I figured you can use the coilgun to shoot a hole first and then anchor the zipline further into the wall, allowing you to mine deeper into the wall before letting go of the zip.

Even for the hardest terrain, you'll get a hole of at least 4 meters. (In the recording, the egg stopped the shot though...)

Just thought I'd share this niche but neat trick. That's all.
