Giving up 35 unanswered against a team you held scoreless in the first half would be unbelievable if it were any team other than the Ravens.

65

u/idontcare111 Bengals 1d ago

Ravens held Bengals to 54 yards in the 1st half. Only 7 minutes of possession

This team has way deeper issues that Lamar constantly masks. It feels almost identical to the Bills

255

u/cupidxd Bengals 1d ago

Lamar is so good that any time he isn’t playing, the Ravens always look like they’ve forgotten how to play. It’s been that way for years.

140

u/Peacefulzealot Bengals 1d ago

Anytime Lamar isn’t on screen all the fans should be asking “Where’s Lamar?”

40

u/ChurchPicnicFlareGun Bengals 1d ago

Lamar needs to be louder, angrier and have access to a time machine.

Huntley threw for almost 300 yards today and it didn’t matter because the defense gave up 5 straight 2nd-half touchdowns, and almost all of them were like 4-5 plays.

Lamar playing today doesn’t do anything for that pathetic unit.

It's kinda hilarious how similar Lamar and Josh are at the end of the day. Both absolute fucking freaks of nature at the QB position. Both probably HoF contenders by the end of their careers.

And I'm not sure either ever gets a SB with their teams.

Not gonna lie I love that Zac Taylor took a time out just so he could continue bitching at the ref

159

u/drewcifer492 Bengals 1d ago

That was the worst call I've seen in awhile ... He gets low blocked into another guy and he low blocks him? And Bengals get a penalty

65

u/Carvedcraftedforged Bengals 1d ago

Yeah it was bad, they almost one upped it though if that roughing the passer penalty would have stood

17

Yeah I’d check to see if that ref had money on that game because that’s one of the most questionable calls I’ve ever seen. JJ Watt seemed irate at that call.

I did not see that second half coming.

128

u/RawCyderRun Ravens 1d ago

I did. After the last FG in the first half I knew a collapse was coming.

42

u/ODB_Dirt_Dog_ItsFTC Bengals 1d ago

What causes this? Does the team just tucker themselves out after the first half? I could see it being a problem for Henry with him getting a bit old for a running back.

62

u/RawCyderRun Ravens 1d ago

I honestly don’t know. Lots of theories abound.

I think there’s gonna be a bunch of cuts after this season. My thinking is that Minter and the new staff have good ideas about the kinds of players they want to get and develop. A lot of these current players were chosen in part by Harbaugh and the old staff (obviously EDC makes the final decision).

I dunno if I’m crazy for thinking that a bigger FO overhaul and rebuild is needed too.

u/Kevin_TS92 Steelers 1d ago

Division rivalry aside, this was the biggest 180 between halves I have ever seen. What in the world causes this for Baltimore?

45

u/Pornthrowaway192 Ravens 1d ago

Seems like Doyle's system is getting figured out by halftime and teams are making the necessary adjustments. This is the second week in a row that we've put up good numbers in the first half and then just proceeded to do fuck all the second half

22

u/Kevin_TS92 Steelers 1d ago

Sure, but it seems like this has been going for YEARS now and its an entirely new coaching staff, isnt it? Thats where im confused

14

u/conman752 Ravens 1d ago

Mentally weak players who also are unable to show and make big plays when they are needed. Like you guys have TJ Watt, we all know at some point he's gonna get a strip sack fumble that he recovers to give the ball and momentum back to your offense. We haven't a guy like that since Suggs and we've wasting resources chasing after that kind of game changing edge player. Hamilton is great but he still makes the occasional mistake like the two bad missed tackles on Cinci's third TD drive.

You have to move on from Huntley with Lamar's injury history, get someone with at least some upside. He can't lead an offense that scores points, he's now only scored more than 20 points in 4 of his 19 starts.

Man, I hate the Ravens but I love Ravens fans. I wore my Bengals Flacco jersey to Wegmans this morning and got so many comments and smiles.

I wish I could say I hope it gets better for y'all but at least we can agree that Joe Flacco is the goat.

8

Yall are our rivals but I can't help feel bad for Ravens fans...8 yrs of Lamar winning yall nothing, even though he's paid $3 million a game. The double-digit collapse thing is so in their heads right now. They missed tackles, took bad angles, blew basic assignments... and that's on top of the Bengals making big plays. I'm super proud of my team for making the comeback after looking lost for a half, but god damn I've never seen the Ravens look quite that mentally broken. It was 14-13 and it looked like every Baltimore player was just going through the motions of a game they knew they were going to lose.

Our DL can’t get any QB on the ground or stop a run up the middle for less than three yards, our ILB are slow, and the right side of our secondary is wide open because Humphrey is washed. You’re never going to win like that unless your offense scores 30+.

this Ravens team is entirely propped up by Jackson, give this guy another MVP

That was my takeaway too.

the Ravens are not a 2nd half team

Maybe next game Minter just goes with a hat or just sunglasses, not both.

At some point people will realize that the Jim Harbaugh coaching tree is smoke and mirrors. Nobody has really been any good at their job.

Jesus Monken is leading the Browns to a winning season. What is this life?

People shit on Zac Taylor but his redzone playbook is money.

13

u/armed_aperture Bengals 1d ago

Funny, but the OC, Dan Pitcher designs the redzone offense

6

u/ScottFujitaDiarrhea 1d ago

Designate that man to the HC then

If Zac ends up somehow leaving the Bengals I would 1000% take him as an OC or offensive minded HC. He once scored 30+ points with something called a Jake Browning and fooled a team into thinking Brian Callahan was HC material. He really cannot be that bad

I can’t even try to be optimistic anymore, this team needs serious changes immediately

complete 180 in emotions between the first half and the second half

4

u/markbanano Dolphins 1d ago

At halftime I was happy I benched Joe and now regret it. Hopefully Jordan love can do the same

3

u/TraditionalEffect546 1d ago

Yeah I've learned, never count Burrow out lol.  Not only is he best during the 2nd half, he's best later in the season too.

u/wallace6464 Bengals 1d ago

For a pro bowler snoop didn't impress

7

u/RavenLaker248 Ravens 1d ago

This team is an embarrassment. Alot of people are about to be banned off the Ravens team sub because the mods are somehow softer than this year’s defense

4

u/MocoMojo 1d ago

I got banned last season for suggesting Orr was a horrible DC (in rather strong language).

Yeah don’t worry we will hear nothing about Lamar’s mvp when he comes back and miraculously Derrick Henry looks amazing and we actually score points again.

lmao. The Ravens D gets paid SOOOOO MUCH MONEY. lmaaaaaaaaooooo

4

u/Elite_Mike Ravens 1d ago

Fire Eric DeCosta..... clearly he learned nothing from Ozzie Newsome. Just make Ozzie the interim GM until we find a new one. Outside of Hamilton and Zay, his track record as GM is not that impressive. We have too many soft players on defense, EDC destroyed the offensive line by going cheap immediately following being in the AFC Championship Game. He's yet to repair the offensive line, which has led to Lamar getting hurt.

As for Minter..... sadly him being under both John & Jim Harbaugh means he's just another coach from the Harbaugh tree. This team needed a Head Coach that wasn't from the Harbaugh tree, a fresh start was needed all around.

I turned this game on the TV at halftime and turned last week's game on the radio right before the fumble so I might just be bad luck for the ravens.
