Blowing out a division rival on the road, I’ve seen enough. Looks like Todd Bowles gets an extension.
76
u/PuddingJello Saints 1d ago
I mean shoot obviously all the issues have been no Baker so why not give Bowles a 5 year contract
35
u/rostron92 Falcons 1d ago
Why limit it to five years? Who says no to a lifetime apointment!

u/QuitWhinging Giants 1d ago
I have no investment in Tampa's success, and I love Todd Bowles reaction images, so I'm for it.

Amazing. Todd Bowles keeps his job for another week.

They aren’t going to fire him mid-season. The Glazers have never done it.

Ball knower but unfortunately for Bucs fans the soccer management world is wildly different than football. I believe the average tenure for coaches is still less than a season in the premier league.

The Bucs being the only team in the South to not have an absolute ass whipping of a loss is fitting
13
u/GrayJinjo Buccaneers 1d ago
And since this division makes no sense at all it wouldn’t surprise me if we beat you guys next week since you just defeated the 6-0 Niners and then the following week we will probably get blown out by the Bears 45-10.

Nothing in football feels worse than being unable to defend the run.

Tnf against the Steelers in 2017. I viscerally remember that one

MNF against the Eagles in 2014. A game so dogshit Gruden made a smoothie instead.
1
u/TonyZeSnipa 9h ago
Was that the Jimmy Clausen game or the Cam game? I lived around Pitt and my dad is a steelers fan. Remember the schedule being released, getting tickets for that game and being there in a Peppers jersey watching the tar get kicked out of us when Clausen was our QB. Every time I’ve attended a steeler game they’ve lost, except that one where they beat us.

u/InYourFace1023 Panthers 1d ago
Canales with the galaxy brain plan to lose this game so Bowles gets an extension (let me cope)
54
u/ThatEmpireGuy Panthers Steelers 1d ago
12th time Evero’s defense has given up 200 rushing yards. How do people actually defend this fool. He needs to be fired, it’s clear his scheme will never work consistently.
2
u/MarionberryDecent351 14h ago
Worst part about coaches is so many of them get high on their own supply thinking they’ve completely outsmarted everyone as their team gets blown out lmao
45
u/Westcoastchi Bears 1d ago
Losing by more than 4 TDs despite allowing less than 100 passing yards is something I thought I'd never see in this era of football.
19
u/GoNinGoomy Panthers Panthers 1d ago
It's not that we didn't allow 100 passing, it's that they were running the ball so well they had no reason to pass.

Look, Carolina fans.
If you want people to see your team as a real contender, the team can't do things like lose to Chicago or get blown out by a Florida team. That's just how it is.

Might be the most embarrassing Panthers game I’ve ever witnessed. Fire Ejiro Evero into the sun for being outcoached by fucking Todd Bowles and Zach Robinson
3
u/_mid_water Panthers 17h ago
I mean the rushing yards are bad, but the turnovers are the main reason it was so lopsided
47
u/Skunkers Panthers Panthers 1d ago
Our o-Line needs a total overhaul and Ejiro Evero should have been fired ages ago. Into the sun.
12
u/Vaadwaur Panthers 1d ago
Yeah, we might be drafting OL first round again, assuming there are enough guys with first round grades.
2
u/discodemolition Bears 23h ago
This o line class is shaping up to be pretty solid IMO.
1
u/Vaadwaur Panthers 23h ago
Think there are any good 2nd/3rd rounders as well? I do not mind drafting a lot of O line after this shit.
3
u/discodemolition Bears 23h ago
Yes, I do. We’ll see how this season shakes out with people returning to school- like Goosby (LT Texas, having a rough year but supremely talented) probably heads back to school after his injury yesterday, but O Line is usually a position who’s depth comes to light after the season, and it feeling supremely deep right now is a good sign IMO.
1
u/Vaadwaur Panthers 22h ago
We are replacing at least one OT, and maybe an OG plus I am not sure if Hecht is going to work as a professional center.
2
u/discodemolition Bears 22h ago
Ekwonus done with y’all?
1
u/Vaadwaur Panthers 22h ago
Sadly unknown. Patellar tendon so we don't know who we are getting back. I suspect we get another OT because Ekwonu might have to inside to guard.

No, happened 4 time prior. Most recently Titans @ Browns in 2019. So Baker has been on both sides of a 43-13 game.

u/e4mica523 Panthers 1d ago
if Evero isn't fired by the end of the week then Canales should pack his bags and join him, because at this point I don't even know what he does. They don't have any consistency, they come out flat half the time, and he wont fire his coordinators that are bad at their jobs
7
u/thunkalunk Panthers 1d ago
If Evero is still employed tomorrow then I am going to start really questioning if Dave is the guy long term.
That’s 12 games his defenses have given up over 200 yards rushing. Having 2 deep safeties against a qb with an injured throwing hand is actual malpractice.

That’s the end of our season. We showed that we are still a basement dweller and our wins were completely fraudulent. This team is headed nowhere and there is no hope, just like always.

This guy doesnt speak for the rest of us, we are 3-3 and lead the south, plenty of games to come
6
u/slashVictorWard Buccaneers Buccaneers 1d ago
We'd gladly trade records. Bucs have no blowout loses this season but not being to close out games (up last week 16-3 in 4th quarter on Steelers) is a different kind of sucking.
15
u/THRUSSIANBADGER Panthers 1d ago
Love the over reactions on Reddit. I’m sure a few weeks ago you were saying stuff like the Falcons wouldnt win a game this year and that Drake Maye is the worst QB in the league and would never be good again. This was an embarrassing game but it’s just that, 1 game. Especially a divisional game where anything can happen.

u/seoul_drift Ravens Seahawks 1d ago
This is the ball knower's perspective.

u/aspiringalcoholic Panthers 1d ago
Long time panthers fans know that since Derek Anderson (the buc fucker) retired, the Bucs own us. It's fine, it's just two games a season. Moton getting injured hurts a lot though.
14
u/Rillaboom2701 Panthers 1d ago

this is certainly the lowest we've been all year but we aren't a basement dweller and the season isn't over

Definitely not the end but it is the crisis point. Next 2 games will show us what these Panthers really are.

u/Imsortofabigdeal Panthers 1d ago
Yeah, two blowout losses and we can start talking about our top 10 pick in the draft and everyone can forget about us just like always.

Panthers O couldn't stop giving the Bucs D the ball. The Bucs O ran all over the Panthers D. The Bucs got 2 after blocking an EXP and returning it.

Bucs defense has been good enough all year. If Bucky and Gainwell can run like that they will be good. Didn't need Baker to do anything but not turn ball over in snap and few passes.
2
u/Ordinary-Mixture5064 Buccaneers 20h ago
What’s funny is the reason we ran so much is because Baker was hurt. If he was healthy we would never have ran this much. And I truly believe we would have loss if we try to throw the whole game.

That was the most competitive game of football the Bucs have played all season, by far. Offense, Defense, and Special Teams all showed up. Aside from Darren Waller torching the secondary and a late Anthony Tyus III garbage-time TD, it was pretty immaculate. I'm a little salty the Bucs didn't manage to break the franchise single-game rushing record of 283 yds; they had 254 rush yds with 7:30 remaining, but it was a really fun game regardless.

u/NeighborhoodGlobal30 Buccaneers 1d ago
bucs haven't had a win like this in almost 2 years. every win last season was by 1 score

u/GroMicroBloom Buccaneers 1d ago
I'm not kidding, that was literally the best Bucs performance I've seen since before our bye week of last year!

u/Aurion7 Panthers 1d ago
2nd time this year another team has rushed for >200/>250 against our defense.
In those games, we are 0-2 and have been outscored 102-50 in total. 22-point L and a 30-point L.
There might be a lesson in there for any would-be defensive coordinators about the importance of stopping the run.
In the defense's very mild defense, everyone else was bad too. But you'll never compete if you can't stop the run even if those other parts are good.

u/davey_mann Eagles 1d ago
The Bucs go from 0-4 to beating the Cowboys on the road and curb stomping the Panthers by 30 points. This is a very weird NFL season.

u/Chopper_Fortnite Vikings 13h ago
Im glad we are done with acting like Bryce is a top 10 qb. He has improved so much this year but he still isn’t close to a top 10 qb, he just has too many limitations
