Are you going to make these for Legends of Tomorrow too?

Has anyone ever sent those to Stephen Amell's Facebook page? I'm sure he'd get a good laugh from them.
29
u/OnBenchNow killing is no Jan 21 '16
Ehhh... as much as I try to rein it in, these synopses always end up being really negative. And of course they're pretty... crass, admittedly. I don't think he'd enjoy either aspect.
14
u/cressida25 Jan 21 '16 edited Jan 21 '16
i'd agree with you there op. i love them and think this is your best one yet but it is kinda mocking the show. which is why it's funny but also kinda insulting for stephen.

If you think he doesn't lurk here then you're mistaken.
He loves his current job so much that he can't not lurk here...
I hope.

u/your_mind_aches Jan 26 '16
You forgot to make the title screen say "Green Arrow".
5
u/OnBenchNow killing is no Jan 26 '16
this is obviously because Oliver was slipping back into the more violent Arrow persona in this episode because of his grief and rage.
3
u/your_mind_aches Jan 26 '16
Psh. OBVIOUSLY.
Also you forgot to make one of the flashback scenes yellow.

Remember when the writers for Flash and Arrow actually tried?
126
u/VanGuardas Jan 21 '16
I heard they took a trip to Tahiti.

u/specialk786 Jan 21 '16
It's a magical place

Jan 22 '16
Eh I'm giving Flash the pass for this week, its rare it has a bad episode and tbh I didn't even think it was bad just not a lot happened save for the last minute.
Arrow had a whole fucking season of this bullshit, if it wasn't for my interest in Darkh I don't think I'd have bothered coming back to Arrow.
13
u/VanGuardas Jan 22 '16
"just not a lot happened save for the last minute." But would not you say that majority of episodes in Flash are structured that way? I see this pattern since season 1. The so called "villain of the week". There are exceptions obviously.
8
u/daffydunk Jan 22 '16
Flash is a more episodic based show, and they honestly do it pretty well. I prefer a good episodic show to a mediocre serialized one. Lots of stuff happens in most every Flash episode, it's just not always tied to the main villain plot.
5
u/khcloud Jan 22 '16
Idk...the whole: "I want you to mature." "Lol, JK, peace out." twist in this week's Flash made absolutely no sense. It was probably the laziest writing between Arrow and Flash this season and that's saying a lot.
15
Jan 22 '16
You talking about Patty? If anything that was the one bit that did make sense, she had the offer but was torn. She's come to the conclusion that Barry isn't serious (I.e mature) enough yet so she's taking her opportunity before it passes her by.
What didn't make sense was Barry having 28 opportunities to tell Patty and not using them. Hell even as she was leaving he could have told her. But I doubt Patty is gone for good, it was a very quick goodbye for a character that's been a major part of the show all season thus far.

This synopsis was great, almost as great as the strong and powerful woman known as Felicity.

She is such a great and strong and powerful woman

u/PattySpivot Jan 21 '16
She's totally such a great and strong and powerful woman

I'm starting to think that Felicity is such a great and strong and powerful woman but I'm not sure why...

your synopsis are getting better than the actual show

u/Febrifuge Jan 22 '16
Confession time: the past 2 or 3 episodes, the synopses are actually my way to skip the shows and stay sort of caught up. Win-win.
30
u/UncreativeTeam Jan 21 '16
Hard to tell if that's the case or if the actual show is getting worse than the synopsis...

5
u/LuxArdens Jan 22 '16
Well the show may be getting worse, but Felicity is such a great and strong and powerful woman.

I'm legitimately only watching to keep up with synopsis when it comes to Arrow.

u/eoinster Jan 22 '16
Did it really? I mean, back in the day I liked it, sure, but there was always a better show and a more enjoyable show.
9
u/Tal9922 Jan 24 '16
Season 2 was fantastic.
7
u/eoinster Jan 24 '16
Season 2 was very entertaining TV. It was well choreographed, well directed in the action scenes and often even well written (especially considering it was on CW), but I'd consider it a stretch personally to call it fantastic. It's all relative, obviously, and if you thought it was fantastic that's cool, but a fantastic season to me is Fargo Season 2, True Detective Season 1, Breaking Bad Season 5, etc., while Arrow even at its best never really elevated above "fun".
10
u/your_mind_aches Jan 26 '16
I think Arrow was more than just "fun" in Season 1 and 2. Definitely.
5
u/eoinster Jan 26 '16
Agree to disagree then. I enjoyed it, but the writing, acting and pacing was well below par, I liked it because it was a superhero show.

Someone has to make an album of timely paused Stephen's funny faces.
Also, Lance sister cards? Can double dig it, does John have Felicity and Helena?

Also, Lance sister cards? Can double dig it, does John have Felicity and Helena?
Maybe Thea too?
15
u/UncreativeTeam Jan 21 '16
Jesus, the writing for the secondary plotlines on Flash and Arrow this week were atrocious. Diggle's brother suddenly shows signs of being good because someone he's never met got hurt? I also give zero shits about whatever's going on with Thea and the campaign dude; I just assume he'll turn out to be evil. Wally has Chinese food at Joe's after standing him up and calling him a bad father because...?
0
u/ThrowAwayAcct0000 Jan 23 '16
I keep hoping the person in the grave is Thea, but it probably won't be.
1
Jan 24 '16
If we lose Thea, we lose all those instagram naked shots of Willa.. DO YOU WANT TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THAT??
2
u/ThrowAwayAcct0000 Jan 25 '16
I'm sure the actress would continue to post photos. I just can't stand the character she plays.

Laurel's. Face in [this one] (http://i.imgur.com/FrEmxxhh.jpg) makes it.

It's the kinda face that says 'I'm so happy my father is dating you.'

u/bzdelta Jan 21 '16
I'm a little disappointed that they weren't Yugioh cards, and that Dig and Andy's card games weren't actually just heated duels.

u/StonedVolus You're just one bad season away from being me Jan 22 '16
Andy was never the same ever since Dig stole his Blue Eyes White Dragon.

The entire episode I kept repeating Oracle Smoak to myself. And thank you for the Joker comparisons, definitely got that vibe too! Great job as always!

u/Shwinky Jan 21 '16
That last Flash one was good, but this one was great. Probably one of your best. Your screen capping game was on point. Also, Felicity is such a great and strong and powerful woman.
7
u/eddie_pls u wot m8 Jan 21 '16
Man, you've gotten really, really good at finding derpy faces for these.
7
u/inherentinsignia Jan 22 '16
No joke, I wasn't paying attention to the little counter where RES shows the slide number, and I flipped back to the beginning without realizing it, where Barry shows up at the funeral, and thought for a second you made a joke and actually had Barry show up again at the end.
6
u/Choco316 Jan 21 '16
Nailed it on them reusing Patty's apartment
2
u/SockPenguin I got tired, Frank. Jan 23 '16
There's a lot of reused sets between the Arrowverse shows. They've had a few scenes in bars/coffee shops in Arrow that are clearly a redressed Jitters and I recognized a few different sets in Legends last night.
3
u/Choco316 Jan 23 '16
Oh totally. The Diggle Patty one was just funny because it's back to back episodes
11
u/Come_On_Nikki Jan 21 '16
Hustle.
And the full saying is "the blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb," which actually does apply to this episode.

u/Labeled90 Jan 21 '16
The nicest things I own are clean chucks, so thats what I'd wear to a funeral. I'm not gonna go buy fancier shoes for a dead person....
5
u/CarbonCamaroZL1 Jan 21 '16
I was looking forward to some smartass remark regarding the Darhk and Oliver meet up where Oliver mentions how he saved Darhk's family and he just kind of accepted it and replied he is giving Oliver a few more weeks with his family. It was sooooooo cheesy with CW just writing their way out of an inevitable death to extend the plot. I wanted you to come up with something really good for this /u/OnBenchNow.
You have failed this SubReddit.
4
u/deathstroke911 Jan 22 '16
Darhk: WHERE IS MY FAMILY
Oliver: i saved them
Darhk: oh ok cool
...... seriously? Arrow is really starting to lose it

u/onbenchnow, you're back and better on '16!
This ones made it for me: http://i.imgur.com/67mnx8I.jpg http://i.imgur.com/VOzeq9b.jpg
I'll admit was waiting for the "KILL, KILL, KILL" at the first ones...
And this one deserved a "Shunavabitch!"

u/Agent_York--Delta Wade Wilson? Jan 21 '16
Glad to see you're still keeping up with these, even after the break. Doing God's work my friend
4
Jan 21 '16
i missed them finding darhk's house and the whole rescuing his family from crazy burn man due to failed recordings (that entire part of the recording was just a black-screen, didn't come back until the end of the fight between olliver and darhk, thanks a lot comcast) so i don't suppose anyone knows where that entire set of scenes is on youtube or something?
4
u/TryHarderNow Jan 22 '16
Is Felicity is a strong woman? Also lost it at the black prisoner is okay, but white no.
4
u/mega48man Jan 22 '16
i dunno why i read "you're holding a man prisoner" as "you're holding a man prisoner". as opposed to a non-man prisoner. i should go to bed.
4
u/TheTruckWashChannel I'll rip ya spine out of your arse and stab you to death with it Jan 23 '16
"You really are my daughter"
I couldn't fucking stop laughing
Also those Dark Knight references were on point
Also reading this made me realize how much I missed the synopses more than the actual show, even though the show is amazing right now

Considering all the Joker referencing you did, I was hoping for a "You want to know how I got these scars?" thing

Reminds me of the Flash episode with Patty. It's like the writers remembered how to give the female characters actual reasons to be upset.
